Dave 77, those charts are ugly. Yep, looks like another summer/fall living in smoky conditions. After last years fire that burned to within one half mile of our property we have decided to sell it this spring. Other reasons too of course but the fire is the straw that broke our pet camel’s back. Heading up there next week to start preps for listing it.

Today it’s 29 out these and it’s going to struggle again to hit 50. Lots of snow in the mountain passes yesterday leading to one being closed due to wrecked cars and trucks blocking the road. Glad I’m not heading over a pass. Warming up starting tomorrow with a 70 in the extended forecast for the first of the week.

We’re heading to what’s called the Coeur d’alene Casino about 60 miles south. We’re taking the motorhome and spending the night. Going to see the Grand Funk Railroad concert. Should be a fun night with two of the three original members still with the band.

its a beautiful morning in our neighborhood .... 69 (RealFeel 72) @ 9AM on Thurs April 16th.... cloudless sky, still no significant rain mentioned in our forecast, less than 1/3" listed as being possible on Sunday .... they are calling for a high today of 92, overnight low 60 .... we both have medical appointments today, nothing else on tap that will take us away from home today

This morning 35' with sunny/fog. Maybe 58' and sunny later. Another overnight in the 30's predicted. Couple days of sunny days in the 70's coming. Then Tuesday, rain returns.

Wow Gene, that's pretty darn impressive. I think my Wife would like a trip there.

Lakeville, MN.
Fair, 59°F,Humidity 77%
Wind Speed SE 8 mph
Barometer 29.62 in
Temperature rising to near 66 by 9am, then falling to around 46 during the remainder of the day.
Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 20 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon.
Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 3pm.

I had a problem yesterday. I had pulled a muscle in my back last week so I promised Carol I wouldn't do any lifting, but a VFW couple who are friends came out to cut some firewood. I only ran the tractor and wood splitter so I was obeying her, but I skipped lunch because we were almost done. I knew I was in trouble and drove the four wheeler to the house where I guess I passed out for a short while. Anyway, she called 911 on me.
When I came back to my senses I asked for a sandwich and some cookies. In a few minutes I was feeling much better and sitting on the couch when first the Fire Department arrived, then a Sherriff's Deputy, then the Rescue Squad, and finally my friends. They took my vitals and said I was OK, asked me some questions, and then left. I was embarrassed and also impressed. They did ask if there was anything I wanted but my request for a beer was ignored.
Back in the 80s as a collateral duty working for the Federal Govt. I taught courses in First Air and CPR but that was the first time I experienced it.
I thanked them all for coming to my party.

Sir Henry your pics of the Ark are impressive. Looks like a wonderful place to visit, wish it was closer.

Coop, glad everything is okay and the emergency response is impressive. We experienced the same when my MIL passed away here at home.

I should be typing this post from the motorhome while parked at the Coeur d’alene Casino after the Grand Funk concert the evening before……not so, unfortunately the show was canceled due to one of the band members health. They had a rehearsal on Wednesday and he found that after some surgeries he was just not ready to go for the length of the show. Thankfully we got notice a few hours before we were leaving. All dressed up and nowhere to go.

This morning it’s 30 with a beautiful sunrise. We are at the start of a big warm up with temps in the 70’s expected for a few days starting on Sunday. Yeah baby, that’s more like it. We watched it snow for a few minutes yesterday. Nothing much tho.

Today I’ll put the motorhome back in the shop for a few days and next Wednesday we’re taking it up to the property. Before I do, I’ll take advantage of it being out and reorganize and clean up the shop.

Are you diabetic? I've had a few times when I felt pretty woozy but have not passed out or had to call 911. Eating or drinking something very sugary helps fairly quickly. I have more issues with my blood sugar going high than low. High is bad for you but I don't feel any different.

I need to get serious about my diet and try to lose quite a bit of weight. Went in for a angioplasty/stenting in one of my leg arteries and they had to give up because they couldn't get a good enough view with the fluoroscope due to my fat belly. Haven't been back yet to see the surgeon. I can still walk but my legs get tired and hurt pretty quickly so I need frequent rests.

No, I'm not diabetic. I have the unique situation where we are just on hour away from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester and my local Doc works with them on my health. I get the very best of health care. I'm just old and my blood sugar got too low, and I ran out of gas. They took all my vitals and they were fine but by then I had eaten half a sandwich and a couple or Orios.

Getting old is tough but I'm not dead yet.

I still think a beer would have helped. :D

I have my issues as well Coop. At the age we are, we DO have to rely on professional care and guidance, However, you certainly deserve that beer. I would! 😊
I wish the best of health to you. Let's all enjoy what we have left...cheers 🍻

Friday, April 17th, has been a good one .... from what I observed, today's high was 91 .... that temp was seen on our truck's outside thermometer around 2PM as we were towing our camper from our home to Raleigh Oaks Campground located just off I-95 near Four Oaks, NC .... all-in-all its been a pretty nice day .... we are setup and settled in for the weekend .... its 74 at 9PM and they are calling for our overnight low to drop to 55 ..... the ladies are looking forward to hitting the outlet malls tomorrow .... I plan to spend the day messing around with a few things on our camper

A few tornadoes here in Wisconsin the last few days. Nothing this far north as most damage was near the Illinois border. Of course the news was reporting the sky was falling everywhere. Someone needs to tell them about the boy crying wolf.

Wow Gene. Those photos from the Ark are impressive! I didn’t know it existed. I have to say, the “Ꮃelcome Center” is a bit confusing. I’m no expert, but at a “Creation museum”, I’d have thought dinosaurs would not be a focus?

It’s just barely above freezing here, but going to be 60ish later. I’m heading up the mountain to meet my neighbor with his tractor to pull some big trees off the abandoned railway grade we use for atvs and hunting etc. A big wind storm before Christmas blew hundreds of fir and spruce down so I’m loading up on fire wood..
