H012MR on order!

Post by deano5150 » Thu Dec 27, 2018 12:21 pm

I got enough cash for Christmas to order a new Big Boy Steel Carbine in .357 magnum! I got some gift cards from Academy Sports and was going to order from them but their website is broken. After two trips to the local store and several attempts to order from their website I gave up on them and ordered the rifle for $50.00 less from Gunbroker. This will be my second Henry from Northern Firearms through Gunbroker. Payment and FFL info have been sent. Now.......the waiting.

Northern Firearms (AKA Reed's Sporting goods) is a good outfit to deal with. They put on a gun fair near my daughter's place that I try to attend every April. Haven't failed to buy something every time I've attended - not necessarily a good thing ;) .

Looks like my rifle is shipping today. My LGS should receive it Thursday. Hopefully it won’t rain next Saturday so I can take it out and sight it in.

Congrats in advance on a great shooter! I've got the rifle version, but it's fantastic and so much fun to shoot. Please keep us posted on your first impressions and range reports! Gonna put a scope on it?

No plans for a scope. I may do a skinner peep at some point. Gotta save some money first. I’ll post pics and a range report after I get it. I can’t wait!

Im thinkin theres gonna be 357 smiles coming Thursday. Northern is a good place to buy from I have bought from them before. I like the way they do business on GB by showing actual pictures of the gun you get. Im kinda weird that way I like to see what Im spending 500 plus dollars on.

I agree with you on both counts! Not only do they show pics of the actual gun you’re buying but they have free shipping, no credit card fees and very competitive prices. Also, I don’t have to pay sales tax. The only other cost is an FFL transfer fee from my LGS.

This is my peep sight set up. As you can see, it involves a rail that allows a scope mounting. With QD rings, it is a quick solution to choosing your best sight option.

Good luck with your adventure. Let me know if I can help.

Nice! I’m thinking a Skinner Express and possibly a new front blade.

The low pro skinner may not need a new front sight.
