CCH Large Loop?

Not in red, but it also now says "pistol grips" only. She needs to update the picture though. The picture still shows straight lever loop where it would abut the stock. Should be curved there.

The Website listing is basically wrong. It says that the CCH Large Loop Lever (in the links above) will fit Model H010, but the only 45-70 with a CCH receiver has a pistol grip, which the $85 CCH Large Loop Lever will not fit. Confusing.

what do I do when I see something I don't understand about a Henry product .. .. yep, I called Henry and ended up speaking directly with a lady in their accessories department .... they got their first shipment of 50 CCH levers in last night ... she said they are "flying" out the door .... both the black and CCH large loop levers now shown on their website will fit ALL 45-70's with a pistol grip stock .... just rechecked the website and (true to her word) the red warning has been removed .... following a short discussion with my CFO, one has been ordered .. .. should be here within a week (I anticipate longer because of the Thanksgiving Holiday

agree .... the first picture below shows what they label is a CCH large lever for an H010 .... the second picture shows a Black large lever for an H010 .... their shape should be the same with the only difference being the color .... that clearly isn't the case

And, isn't it also true that the only lever action 45-70s that DON'T have a pistol grip are the brass ones (which wouldn't look right with a CCH large loop lever anyway)?

I do have one concern and I discussed it with the lady who took my order .... we purchased our CCH 45-70 right after they first came out .... its colors aren't a bright as some I've seen recently .... if the new large lever has "vivid" colors, it may not look right on our rifle .... that concern was taken care of when I was told that if didn't look right they would be happy to take it back for a full refund .... I told her I wouldn't want a that, I'd probably want to swap it out for a black one and adjust the cost .... she said that would be OK

FWIW, I sent my own written inquiry to the Henry Pride contact. There's simply no such thing as an H009 with a pistol grip. And any "H012" is a Big Boy, and none of them have pistol grips. I believe that something more than the pictures are messed up.
Will see what they say, as they say...

Maybe it IS just the fact that they don't picture them both. And, for all the confusion and kerfuffle, if I wanted one after all for my 30-30, I now can't buy one because they're sold out.
Serves me right!

The way the copy is written threw me, which was compounded by the lack of a second photo that showed they are actually offering two different levers (one for straight-stocks, one for pistol-grips).

Further dialogue with Allison and it seems the 30-30 levers aren't sold out, but just haven't been received yet. Among members, this may only apply to me, but what the heck...

Got a similar response from Allison.

"Thank you for your interest. This item was just listed so we are still working on updating pictures and the web. The pistol grip refers to the H010 Series. Thank you for your feedback."

The online description has also been updated again, making a distinction between the straight and pistol grip to which rifles.

Will fit all H006,H012,H009(with straight grip stocks) Series and the H010(with pistol grip stocks only) Series rifles.

Having had several hours this morning to regard my CCH 30-30 with the standard loop/standard blued lever, I've decided for now to stand pat. I kinda like the way the black lever and black scope/rings make the CCH "pop," but I may change my mind when I see how yours turns out.

This hunt season also made me confortable with the standard loop while wearing gloves (2 layers), so, for me, it would be a pure cosmetic move (of which I've done plenty with numerous firearms, so there's no such thing as off-limits!).

Look forward to seeing your new accessory!

CCH lever arrived .... install method is the same as removing/reinstalling the OEM lever for when cleaning .... first time I tried to close the new one, it didn't want to go all the way .... removed and reinstalled, same result .... removed and reinstalled again, same result .... reinstalled and removed the OEM lever, operated as it should .... reinstalled the CCH lever, didn't close all the way (couldn't pull trigger) .... after looking at it for a bit, I physically squeezed the lever and it closed all the way .... worked it several times, performed well .... I believe that after some more opening and closing, it will operate every bit as smoothly as the OEM .... as with the large levers on our 44 & 357 Mags, I really having the additional space inside the lever .... it suits me well .... bottom line, I like it .... first picture shows OEM lever ... after that, contrasting them and with the CCH installed .... if I didn't know otherwise, I'd think it came with the CCH lever
