~Shooting Positions~
I shot my SGC off hand, standing, except for the last 10-round magazine load when I shot from a seated position.
~Ammo~
Browning Performance Rimfire (BPR) 40gr, 1255 FPS. Shot 78 rounds.
~Targets~
The sevens. One 7" square cardboard, two 7" round black steel.
~Shooting Distances~
55, 33, 30, 15 yards.
Range Goals for the Day
To have fun!
Try various distances and firing positions.
All were achieved.
~POIs~
The cardboard was quiet; the black steel was pleasantly clanging.
What I caught in my camera lens, was the 7" cardboard area where my POIs landed (10 rounds). At start of range time, both sides of the black steel were solid black. The SGC & Me sure messed that up!
I took my first 5 shots at 55 yards, landed shot #1 right on, and ended up with 5/10 clangs. At 30 yards, 7/10 clangs.
At 15 yards, 10/10 clangs using rapid fire. The SGC's lever-action is very, very smooth, and the ghost-ring rear sight returns quickly on target!
At 33 yards, final 10 round magazine load, 10/10 clangs. Used the clean, back side of the black steel.
Especially fun since I rarely shoot from a seated position. Just brought a patio chair on to the range grass, and went for it. Actually surprised myself a little since it's such a different "feel" when shooting from this position. Very pleased with this group.
That's the Range Report and the story of the SGC and Sevens.
Have a great day!
