I forgot, I may add a 12 gauge coach gun too. That would be handy.

as noted above, we don't have more than one rifle in any given caliber ... in reading trough post in this thread and thinking about it for a while, I now believe I do know what I'd like to add next .... if Henry was to come out with a Long Ranger 30-30 I'd be hard pressed not to buy one .... with our Model 94 we have the normal limitations in the types of bullets we can use .... with a clip fed rifle, we could load any/all the wide range of 30 caliber bullets on the market .... that would be something I'd really enjoy

Well you CAN use a Spire point bullet in a Mod 94 but it becomes a single shot however it is amazing the range and accuracy improvements with a Mod 94 loaded with a 150 grain Spire Point!

makes sense .... being able to take that out of the theoretical realm and move it into a real one adds to my motivation .... I think I'll call Henry next week and ask if they are giving any consideration to producing a Long Ranger 30-30

Just speculation but I cannot imagine they WOULD produce one in 30-30. The reason for a MAG fed lever is really to be able to utilize the attributes of a lever with the advantages of rimless cartridges of higher power. There are plenty of 30-30 options already so I can't really see a HUGE market for LR in 30-30.

that could certainly be the case ... the vast majority, if not all, of the currently produced 30-30's I know of are tube fed ... 30-30 has a long standing, large following ... a clip fed would be pretty much alone in providing a way to load spitzer bullets

AND with no commercially spire point loaded in 30-30 (does not include the LeverEvolution rounds - I am referring to traditional ammo) you have nothing more than a MAG fed lever gun that shoots typical FP ammo.

I picked up a Zane Grey Century recently so that makes three 30-30 rifles in my string of 366's.
I think the 30-30 long range limitations are in the case not the action.

10-4 on the lack of commercial .... RCBS notes 30-30 reloading dies have long been and continue to be among their top 10 sellers ====> http://www.chuckhawks.com/rcbs_2012_rifle_die_sales.htm .... I have absolutely no doubt that among such a large pool of reloaders, Henry would find very lucrative market

I am looking at a Legendary Lawman model locally - but the price might be a bit more than it should be so I am waiting to see what happens with it.

38-55 is one of my favorite lever gun rounds. Ive watch those Legendary Frontiersman for quite some time on GB. They seem to hang around the high 7's and I have seen them for as much as 1500. I havent bought one yet because there are other makes I would spend that kind of money on before the Winchester.

I own a Ruger .22, a Marlin .22 wmr, Ruger No. 1 in 25-06, .327 Henry Fed Mag, and just of today a Marlin 1894S in .44 mag. I've got a .327 Fed mag revolver (Ruger) which is what got me interested in the Henry in the same caliber. I guess it would have made more sense for me to get a .357 mag Henry since I also own two .357 mag revolvers (GP 100 and S&W 340 CT. I guess variety is the "spice of life" as they say. I think I'm through with buying firearms for quite a while though.
