.22LR Winchester 9422
I went back today and it was still there so I bought it for $450 out the door. The serial number dates it to 1980 and the barrel is marked .22 S-L-L.R. Don't know why they put a period on the L and R but the S is not struck out. Its a checkered stock XTR.
I would say it is in excellent condition but there is a big jump in prices when you step up to NIB so I paid a fair price for it.
Its missing the front sight hood but I have an extra one from a win mag version of it. I also have a 9410.
I'm packing for a three-day road trip and won't have time to take it to the range before I go. Expect a range report mid-week next week.

SH, you STOLE that rifle!
NCG, I noticed the other day when I posted pics of my H001 the same thing happened to mine. If anyone knows how to fix it, I’d like to know how.

How are you going to set it up for sights? I have a vintage Bushnell Custom 4x scope on ours, but have been thinking about going with a peep or maybe a red dot, since i prefer to shoot it offhand.

You do that to a beautiful 9422 and I will have to come out there and rescue the rest of your rifles.Sir Henry wrote:Kind of looks like I made a Mare's Leg out of it.North Country Gal wrote:Congrats! Looks kind of squished, though.

Re: .22LR Winchester 9422
I may just leave it alone and use the stock sights or more likely pull the J.C. Higgins (Weaver) scope from the 9422M and put it on the 22LR. The mag sights are far better even though they are also V-notch. The notch is more of a valley on the LR while the mag is it more of a steep canyon.North Country Gal wrote:How are you going to set it up for sights? The post-war scope is a war design even though it was made up until the late 50's. The crosshairs do not remain in the center and on some rifles it can be so far to the edge it becomes a distraction.
