I went to Parma Woods with my Bond Arms O/U derringer to see how much fun I could have shooting my new .22 Magnum & 9MM barrels. The new barrels were just like shooting two new S/A firearms. Glad to report I accomplished my simple goal!!
I shot both targets off hand at 7 yards, which is pretty much the designed distance for shooting this derringer. Even though the goal was fun, I did learn some things -- as usual.
It's still interesting to make that very minor adjust with my POA for the upper vs. upper barrel. I did better at that today, because I saw my elevation reflecting pretty good POIs.
Windage was another story, especially in the .22 Magnum results. The 9MM results I'm quite pleased with as I haven't shot a BA derringer in that caliber since summer 2013! I realized somewhat late during my shooting time the challenge I was having with windage. I was overly concentrating on the barrel POA. And I neglected concentrating on holding the derringer steady. I was surprised at how much side movement I "saw" as I aimed....just didn't catch it soon enough. Next range time.
Here are the photos showing the fun I had...this derringer is a blast to shoot!
