I was not happy with my shooting yesterday in the wind, so when I saw today was ZERO wind; it was time for redemption.
80F today and not a blade of grass moving. Very smoky today, as fires are burning now in Montana as well as BC. Most of the Parks are now closed to all activity. I had 40 rounds of 45 Colt Winchester 250 gr LFN left in a box for some reason, must have shot 10 rounds in the pistol at some point. So I took this box to the range with me today.
First up: The 1860 Henry at 50 yards, off hand standing. Yesterday I was low on the target and disappointed with the results. I put a full mag tube of 12 rounds on an 8" target today and was much happier.

Once again, I shoot best when I don't overthink it. Aim & fire. Not rapid fire but definitely not a lot of breath-holding and should I or shouldn't I? Aim, fire and enjoy! That is after all what I bought the rifle for....

Next over to the 25 yard range with the 1871 Colt SA Army Richards conversion revolver. Same ammo. I actually shot 20 yds today, because yesterday at 25 yds I was all over the map. Not good. Today was a little better, and all 25 rounds hit in the black circle, some even in the same place amazingly enough. Wild Bill would still drop me in my tracks, but at least it wouldn't be a total embarrassment; I might get the town drunk behind him before they drag me to the bone orchard.

I had 3 rounds left, and my pistol was pretty hot so I put the last 3 on the 25 yd board with the Henry. Only 3 shots but the best target ever! Might frame that one...

....hey Wild Bill, let me just get my Henry and I'll be right back....
