Top rifle is our beautiful CZ 452 Trainer, now with a Williams peep sight added. Bottom rifle is our also beautiful Winchester Low Wall Rimfire Classic, now with a Marble's globe front sight added. Both 22 LRs, today shooting the same Eley Target ammo.
The peep sights:
The Williams FP on the CZ (top) is a very familiar sight for me. I use the FP on a lot of various guns. The Marble's tang on the Low Wall (bottom) is a new one for me and, have to say, I love it. Being able to get my eye up close to the aperture on the sight really helps. Also looks great on such a classic rifle as the Winchester Low Wall. The winner, here, is the Marble's tang peep.
The front sights:
The CZ has an excellent elevation adjustable blade front. It's as good as it gets in a blade front sight. That blade in combination with the small 3" bulls at 50 yards, though, is right at the limit of doable for me as far as visibility. The Marbles globe on the Winchester (bottom), when fitted with the right size aperture, makes those tiny 3" bulls much easier to see. The winner, once again, is the Marble's.
The triggers.
The CZ wins, here. I've got it tuned down to under 2 pounds with absolutely no creep or play. I just think "shoot" and the shot is gone. That's a huge plus for offhand shooting. Hard to believe such an affordable gun can produce such a trigger. Amazing. The Winchester trigger I still rate as very good. Breaks at about 3.5 pounds with just a tiny bit of creep. It's what I call a solid hunting grade trigger.
The balance:
Two different guns in this respect, but I like them both. The CZ is definitely the lighter gun and one I could shoot all afternoon without much fatigue. The Low Wall is a heavy barrel gun. That barrel weight aids stability, but it's not a gun I could shoot for hours on end, nor is it a gun I would want to carry around, all day. For offhand shooting, though, the weight is a plus for steadiness. I give the Winchester a slight edge, here.
The fun factor:
Totally subjective, of course, but there is a certain magic with working a classic falling block single shot that working a bolt gun can never achieve. The Winchester all the way on this one.

The CZ
That CZ trigger and excellent inherent accuracy is a wicked combo for offhand work. My best target of the day with the CZ. I know I can do better, but I am pleased, just the same, given my eyes weren't at their best, today.
The Winchester Low Wall
If this thing had the trigger of a CZ ... whew! Those sights and the way this guns steadies at your shoulder and then the way the gun operates makes shooting this Low Wall a real joy.
I'm calling it a draw on these two. Love 'em both. I'm one lucky cowgirl to have two such fine rifles.
