Remington 582 and CZ 452

Post by bandit1250 » Wed Jun 07, 2017 5:21 pm

After shooting the CZ Ultra Lux Monday evening and waiting on a storm to pass through I got two more guns out of the safe to shoot. That is what is nice about shooting from my back porch. Just walk in and get something else to shoot. This could change anytime but I hope not soon. Well anyway I found a couple more boxes of ammo that was easy to get to and it was CCI standards and both these rifles do well with CCI. I had to use a target the kids printed up and that is why it is pink. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;) The old tube fed Remington with the hard trigger pull showed it's stuff as usual putting all six in a single hole at the 33 yd. target. It amazes me a tube fed rifle can be that accurate. The CZ FS shot the first two in the same hole low and then 4 in the upper group. Not really a very good range report because the rain and wind moved in again then I just quit and went back to fooling around in my room arranging some things.

I'm a big fan of older Remingtons, always good to hear about them ..... not surprised in the least at 6 shots forming a single hole

That 580/581/582 series Remington were some of the most accurate 22s for the money ever made. I also had a 582 that would outshoot my CZs and that is saying something.

Those holes are pretty in pink.
The Remington is the one you did the custom paint on isn't it?
I like the look and you certainly shoot it well.

The Remington is the one I painted for squirrel hunting and had that hideous looking silver scope on it. Load the tube up at my truck and go in the woods and carry no ammo. If you run out of ammo and still don't have a limit of squirrels leave the rifle against a tree and go home and find something else to do.  The paint is Brownells grit as a base and then add the other colors and used blades of grass from the field by my home for the stencils. Easy to do and holds up well with the satin clear on the top coat. I love these older Remington's. They are like good friends. Just hard to leave go.
