Oh boy just got my catalog & right there in front are the Henry Original rifles chambered for the .44WCF. Wow are they beautiful. I'd have to sell several somethings to get one though?????

I hear organs are going for big money. You just have to survive living without a part to enjoy the money.

I'd like to have one but instead of 44-40,
I'd rather have it in 45 colt.
I know Uberti makes one chambered in 45, but
I like to buy American made, when possible.

He thanks everyone that is a beautiful rifle & to have one legally marked Henry rather than Uberti would be fantastic.
Uberti makes fine firearms, but one marked Henry after soooooo many years would be special. ;)

My next Henry will be an Original. I'm not sure when it will happen, but that's what I've decided.

I've held one of the brass engraved ones and an Iron frame at a gun show. The only problem I saw with it was keeping it clean of drool stains!

The 44/40 has made a comeback with the cowboy action folks. I think Henry was trying to keep it as close to an original period cartridge as possible. it's been a while since anyone made copper 44 rimfires!

Dave I'm glad you decided to go that way. I can't way to see the pics. Saves me from getting one. I can live vicariously through you.

I'm hoping that it will happen by years end. It won't be soon, but I have made that decision.

I think that's a fantastic decision, Daytime Dave. What a fine choice for your next Henry. Squatch mentioned he held a couple models of the H011, as I also held the brass model at Cabelas a few weeks ago -- and worked a super-smooth lever. It is a handsome rifle. I look forward to celebrating with you this addition to your gun cabinet :!:

Squatch, you made a sage decision, too. It is much less expensive to enjoy the H011 through Daytime Dave. Fortunately for Henry, not many folk go that route, so at least they will stay in business!

:D Happy Posts :D by you both!

Squatch, The .44-40 aka .44WCF has been a favorite of mine for about 7 years. ;) it's a great ctg. especially in a handgun powerful, mild shooting, accurate, & not as bad to reload as a lot of people say. I'm glad Henry brought the original out in .44-40 it's a fantastic choice!

My 45 Colt BBB is only a couple months old and really like it. Also load and shoot 250 grain cast and 250 grain copper plated Berry bullets. Would really like to move up to a 45-70. Like to big gun levers. Wonder what I could give up. At my age you hate to let anything go that hasn't left or started to leave.

Wisconsin Shooter.
The .45-70 is a fun cartridge & can be loaded from mild to wild depending on what gun you are working with.
You'd like it.

Hey, that's what I do with most of the stuff I read on gun forums. No way I can afford to buy all this stuff myself!

As for Sir Henry suggesting selling a kidney, at my age I have to go so often, maybe only having one kidney would help. :o

I will try to help you all by getting one by year's end. Several challenges, but I'm up to it.

Watched the video from Hickok45 on this rifle.

All I have to do is win the lottery.

What a nice rifle.
