Shot 25, 50 and 100 yds off hand standing. I figure a frontier replica needs to be shot that way.
First time shooting Remington 250 gr LRN ammo. Really liked it! Great shooting ammo. The round nose might travel straighter in the wind. 40 mph wind today. Better than last time. The 100 yd was 10 rounds but 4 missed the 8" target. I was ok with the 25 yd. This rifle is certainly different to shoot than the Big Boy. But I really like it. I'll get on to it after awhile.

Maybe it's cause I'm not that great, but I can appreciate the difficulty of shooting that rifle offhand in the wind, and I think those results are right up there with anyone.

I would not have hit the target a single time @100 yards, not alone barely miss getting half of them in the 9 ring.

RR, you continue to impress. I get what you're saying about some rifles being made to shoot from a standing position. I think those old lever guns, pumps and single shots are natural offhand shooting guns because they were created in an era when standing was the way most people shot their rifles.

40 mph winds? I wouldn't even have tried to shoot in 40 mph winds, at least at 100 yards. Good grief. That would have been tough for me to even hold on to the rifle.

Many thanks everyone. That design of rifle is certainly a lot of fun to shoot. I get my best results when I don't over-think it. That's my nemesis. I'd like shoot like Hikock45: he just points and shoots. That's the level I'd like to get to. Ya he misses one now and then but the guy just cowboys up and gets it done most of the time. I am really trying to work on that. None of my targets were agonized over, I just tried to point and shoot. It will improve, I've only shot this rifle a couple of times. It's a long way down that barrel to the front sight!
