With the cost of .41 mag ammo I had no choice if I want to shoot very much. It wasn't bad when it was just my revolver but now that I own a BBS the cost would kill me because it's to much fun to shoot!

I have been hand loading for almost forty years, on and off. Got back into it when I purchased my Henry Big Boy in .44 and started shooting my Super Blackhawks more. I have been primarily using fast burning powder charges with light loads. Cheaper and it makes for great plinking loads. Very quiet as well. I use a simple Lee hand press and measure each powder charge on a scale. It is a slower process, but enjoyable for me and simple.

I actually reloaded Twenty 45-70 shells before I received the rifle...I also cast my own bullet and powder coat them to resolve the leading issue.

I reload for 9mm, 38/357, 40, 45 with tool heads set up for wadcutter and semiwadcutter in the 38 caliber. Saved resetting dies over and over when reloading for various matches. I don't reload for 223 or 308 or any of our shotgun needs. The 38/357 feeds the Big Boy Carbine.

As for picking up brass, I'm too broken to get down and do it, but this brass wand from Dillon does a great job.

You roll it over the brass, in the grass, on the deck, on the sidewalk... it gathers inside. When it starts to fill, dump it in you bucket.
My only complaint once I got one? Sheesh, why did I wait so long.

Note: They can also be used to pick up hard nuts that clutter the yard, falling from your trees.

Interesting tool. I'll try to keep on bending over for now....only need to pick up 20-ga shotshells at this time.
The exercize also keeps the top of my belt buckle nicely polished....that's with the tummy tool.

I make it a point to reload for all my applicable firearms. It only makes sense this day and age.
Besides you just can't compare the satisfaction when getting awesome groups or taking that ultimate shot at big game or what have you.
I got into casting boolits several years back and that just heightens the satisfaction.

H009 30-30. I use 150 grain Sierra bullets, and 30 grains of IMR3031* for most of my reloads. It makes for a nice moderate load that has less recoil than factory ammo. Still has plenty of velocity, and very accurate.

*IMR3031 is the lazy man's 30-30 powder. Why? Well, because you don't have to have load data- the name on the jug tells you to use 30 or 31 grains.

I reload for 4 centerfire rifles. 223rem, 30-30wcf, 357mag and 45-70govt. One is a Henry. I know I don't save money reloading. But I does help me rationalize shooting a lot more.

When I get it I do plan to hand load for it.
