Hope it's better than you're expecting. Just watched Hickok45 shooting the 1860, and notice this vid he mentioned the "hot barrel" more than during other chats. I'd bet with your cooler clime up north, it probably won't be as much of an issue. Anyway, a good pair of leather gloves can easily handle it.

Reloading is next, right?

Hopefully I never need to unload a dozen rounds in a hurry in the back country...at the range I'll slip a glove on if I want to go all "Rifleman" on the target board! :)

The dealer here is picking up his shipment this week in Calgary and my 1860 is supposed to be in it. I'm trying to get lined up for next Saturday to go and get it. Hopefully get to the range on Sunday. Fingers crossed!
