Where do you find your Henry Big Boys?
Ok, my first started thread. I am not asking you to give away you "honey hole", but where do you look to find your Henry's? I have been searching for a 45/70, brass model, H010B for a while, but other than some overpriced stuff on GB, nothing. I have hit all the local gun stores, plus Cabella's, Academy Sports, etc., gone on line at Buds, Davidsons and a few others, but I am not having much luck. Locally, the selection is limited, a .22 or an occasional .357, but rarely, if ever, a .44 or a .45/70. I guess it has to do with the expense of stocking, but man, I just don't see many in my area at all. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Google "IRUNGUNS". This outfit runs a place in the US and Canada and imports to Canada. But I'm sure they sell in US.

JWC,
I don't know about what is "overpriced" for your H010B. But I've used most of the options you listed. There is one "honey hole" internet search approach I do, which takes some time. I usually make a list of web links (on Word) with the various price options I find on a firearm. And maybe you've done this, too.
I google a search phrase such as "henry 45-70 h010b for sale." This takes me to many places (LGS) all over the US. And I have bought some firearms from small or large LGS in various states. For instance, here are two on the phrase I did for you this morning:
http://www.hinterlandoutfitters.com/hen ... 50399.html (Your rifle currently out-of-stock)
http://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore. ... s-receiver (There is one for sale here)
I've somewhat enjoyed doing this and seeing how firearms are advertised, and priced, at so many different locations. This cyberspace window-shopping has saved me some good $$$ at times.
Best on your search for the perfectly-priced H010B!!

PT7, I should have clarified "overpriced". $899, is currently what one is priced, and I feel that is too high for this particular model. However, I must admit, I am not finding very many at any price right now. Thank you for your suggestion, and I will add the two links you gave me to my list.
Thanks RanchRoper for your suggestion as well. I will also add that one to my list of links.

You're quite welcome.
Re. your overprice of $899, the Sportsman store link has it for $770 and free shipping....a little better.

Re: Where do you find your Henry Big Boys?
No problem. I think he said his warehouse was in Arizona and they stocked over 65,000 items. It was as close as I could get to an affordable H011 44.40 Original, but still out of reach this year due to the crappy Canadian $. Oh well....one day. Good luck!JWC wrote:PT7, I should have clarified "overpriced". $899, is currently what one is priced, and I feel that is too high for this particular model. Try slickguns.com hit the search button type in what you want and it will give you a list from a bunch of distributors.
I bought my H010B in Roxboro N.C. at Rock City Guns for 729.00 he also sells on the internet. He says he charges $50.00 or 10% over cost whichever is more. They sell a lot of guns.

Re: Where do you find your Henry Big Boys?
I think most Henry's sell near MSRP retail. That's ok with me They are worth it!
I did find a dealer at the Gettysburg gun show that had great prices. I bought my brass 45/70 from him. He had 2 of them. That's the only ones I've seen n stock anywhere. He was doing a brisk business and had a little of everything including Originals and Wildlife Editions.
For my Golden Boy and Big Boy I looked on Henry's website and called a local dealer that was a *(stocking) dealer.

Hitman, thank you. I do use slickguns, but they are out. Thanks for the heads up on the store in NC.
Squatch, I too went to the Henry website and got a list of the stocking dealers in my area. I have hit them all, with no luck on the Big Boys in .44, .45 colt and 45/70. But I will get another list and go a little further out. I know the Big Boys are worth the money, I have a .45 colt, it is a joy to shoot.
Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it.

Calling HRA is a good idea. Also I think on their web site they have a find a dealer by your zip code.

Re: Where do you find your Henry Big Boys?
Thanks guys, but I have called HRA. They were very nice, gave me the same list I that the search engine pulled up, but said they did not know where any particular model was. I do have to say again, that they were VERY nice.
I have gotten some great links, suggestions, and advice. I appreciate all who took the time to reply.

I am considering a 45/70 brass too. It's tempting when I can walk into Sheels and handle it now. Their everyday price is $849, $50 less than list. Bud's online is $675+shipping+transfer fee+background check fee+taxes. But they're out of stock. Do the wait Or spend the bucks to have it now.

Henry has a dealer listing sheet based on area. When I ordered the 2016 catalog my area dealer listing was included.

Re: Where do you find your Henry Big Boys?
My LGS owner and good friend ordered me a Big Boys Steel .44 mag for $650 tax included, in 4 days I had it. He really didn't want me to order a marlin 1894! He said opening a box on a Marlin is like "Forest Gump's chocolates" you never know what your going to get...lol I'm really happy with the Henry. Definitely steered me in the right direction. I have to add, earlier this year I "hand picked" a 1895 Marlin 45-70 from a Big Box store.( $575). Its a great shooting rifle with no objections to fit , finish, smoothness or accuracy. Its nice when you can touch em first, but with Henry its not necessary, mine came perfect.
