Just a quick update on the Marlin 336 in 30-30. I took it with me to the range today and shot a little with it. It was really windy today, so I didn't get much done. I confirmed, however, that my scope is dialed in perfectly at 100 for my handloads (150 grain Sierra bullets, and 30 grains of IMR 3031).
As was true when I was there last week, it's all up to the idiot behind the trigger. Still, I am seriously considering ordering a Wild West Trigger Happy trigger for this rifle. I think maybe my Marlin deserves a better trigger. It shoots very accurately, but it's hard to hold it still enough with the stock trigger.
Site seems to be OK. Load issue should be resolved now.

Re: 2-12-17: Update on the 336
I installed a ww. trigger in my 336, 30-30. It only took about 1/2 hour start to finish, What a difference, just under 3lb. They're alittle pricey but worth it for the accuracy you achieve. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I guess I'm just curious. Yesterday at the range, my first three shot "group" was not really a group at all. I missed three times, about 2-2 1/2 inches out from point of aim, a half inch circle. I moved over to another part of the target, and my next shot was also out a ways.
I settled down, and put a shot within less than an inch of the the half inch circle "bull." I moved to a third area of the paper, and hit the bull with my next shot.
The rifle, is capable of sub 1 inch accuracy. If I do my job, it shoots where I aim, but with the stock trigger, it's really hard to do it consistently. I'm very tempted to ind out if a better trigger will make a difference.
