next time our 8 year old grandson is helping clean a rifle, make sure that when I tell him to wipe it down with a Ballistol soaked rag that i emphasize he not to wipe the scope lenses .. :shock:

its fine -- NOW -- however, it took a good bit of camera lens cleaner to get all of the film off .... ;)

Hopefully, it didn't take any of the fluorite coating off.

it seems fine but we won't know for sure until we get it back on the range .... unfortunately with the weather and time of the year, that many not be for a while

Look at the surfaces of the lenses with a bright flashlight. Try a couple different angles. If there is damage to the lens coating, I would think you should be able to see it. You're probably fine.
