Wonderful, looks great. Getting even more with envy.

A question for you. Seeing the patching before the new floor was applied do folks in your area experience concrete cracking? Here of course we have the freeze/thaw cycles that is hard on concrete. My wife was born and raised in Southern California and she gets a little crazy when our concrete cracks.

I live in the SF East Bay and this is earthquake country.

I’m also located by a railway with a bridge that runs through the middle of the town. When a freight train rolls through it feels like a 2-3 magnitude quake. Which is nothing by CA standards, but you feel the shaking.

My house is on a slab. The cracks were not huge but they were there for sure. The polyurethane is flexible so it shouldn’t crack. It says in the warranty that it is NOT WARRANTED AGAINST EARTHQUAKES…

I have lived through hundreds + quakes in my life. We just sit through them and guess the magnitude. You get pretty good at guessing over time…

To be honest I never really noticed the cracks but the patching accentuated them.

On a side note my car is the dirtiest it’s ever been. Sitting outside for the first time ever for a week. I’m going to have to get it washed before I put it back in the garage Monday night!

Yep, can’t put a dirty car in such an awesome garage. Cracks around here can get big, up to a half inch across and run for many feet. It’s just a non stop issue for her but for me it’s just normal.

3 more hours and I can officially park in my garage!

They finished the painting today so the project is finished!

My brother is coming over Friday with his truck and we are going to go through the cabinets and do some major culling of stuff that has accumulated over 25 years.

Then we will move stuff back in that’s sitting out in the side yard right now.

Love it. The job turned out great.

We call the culling, decluttering. We try and do a room here, a room there about one or two a month... Starting the project over every eighteen months. The first time you commit it's a job. Really a lot of work. Big rooms we might split into sections the first time thru.

Eighteen months later, when you run thru again, not nearly as bad.

Working for Boeing for many years I learned about World Class Manufacturing. Boeing embraced the Japanese methods which included a process called 5S. One of the S’s is sorting, exactly what you are planning to do with your brother. My wife and I joke that it’s time to 5S the basement. But jokes aside, it’s great to do the sort from time to time. We just did it transferring junk from the motorhome to the trailer eliminating junk we hauled around but never used.
