Scary enough picture. Would not want to face that in real life. I hope your friend is safe.

Re: Spokane fires
It’s a nasty situation. We had a small fire up the hill behind my place a few weeks ago, but the fire dept handled it pretty quickly. Another one started near my brothers house and from its discovery yesterday, it is already 24,200 acres!
Two photos from my place. 6:30 am and clear. 6:30 pm, not so much…

Re: Spokane fires
Hey Red, seems like the world is on fire doesn’t it. Best to you and your brother.
Yesterday’s forecast of gusty winds didn’t happen. Thank you Ma Nature. So, little to no increase with the local Spokane fires. But late yesterday afternoon two separate fires broke out south of Spokane 40- 50 miles. One of the fires is threatening a small town called Malden. In 2020 80% of the town burned in a wildfire including the post office, fire station and town hall. Now the entire town is on level 3 evacuation and I can’t imagine how horrible those folks must feel. Saw an interview with an 87 year old resident who said they just finished rebuilding everything and said he couldn’t go thru it again.
The second fire is not threatning a town at this time but is burning towards the city of Colfax which is a bit bigger and is the county seat.
Thankfully with all the firefighters and air assets in Spokane to fight fire there many were routed to these two new fires so help arrived quickly.
