Firewood done for the year

Post by Hatchdog » Tue Jun 16, 2026 10:15 am

I’m done for the year with my firewood preps. Other than enjoying a nice warm fire that is. :D A neighbor had several trees cut down and gave me the wood. I’m thinking I’m good for three seasons with what I was given.

Split and in the woodshed for winter 26-27.

Cut into rounds to start drying for winter 27-28.

Still in log length, winter 28-29.

I do. It’s free and I keep my fires hot. Plus clean the stovepipe every year. Last year I had a bunch of fir and sure enjoyed that.

I burn mostly hardwoods.

I wish I had that opportunity. As you know Sir Henry, this area is mostly pine, fir and larch. With a little birch, cedar and aspen scattered here and there.
