Birds in my area

Post by Sir Henry » Fri May 22, 2026 8:20 am

I just download a new app on my phone and through sound it identified these birds. I was at the Cranberry Creek Rifle Range and these are the birds I heard in about two minutes.

Merlin is a great tool for identifying birds. I love photographing birds, but I'm not a birder, so it's nice to have some reference in the field for a bird I'm seeing, hearing, or just photographed. I used to recommend it a lot to photographers I met out shooting, but then I discovered that almost everybody I talked to had been using it for years.
