Clock Next To SEARCH Box
Clock Next To SEARCH Box
I'm noticing that there is a small clock up in the top part of the page, just below the "notifications" bell, and next to the SEARCH box. Is that new? I'll admit that sometimes things go unnoticed by me, and when I do finally see them, it's a discovery, even when they've been there for a while.
Is that little clock thing new? It's correct for my time zone too!
I like it!

Re: Clock Next To SEARCH Box
It has the correct time for me in Eastern Standard time. I have no clue about what folks in other time zones see. I believe it has always been there, I just never paid much attention to it.

Re: Clock Next To SEARCH Box
It's correct in my timezone, too. I think it might have always been there, though I really don't recall ever paying attention to it till now.
Regardless, you made me consider it, so please forgive this philosophical comment because it's late and I'm old and thinking too much about too much.
It's a digital clock, and -- as we know -- Time/Space is analog; as is everything, everywhere, unless it's in something called cyberspace, like here, where events are like crypto currency. Fake. Poof.
We're all analog; just more stuff in time that flows like a river in space. It's been said that no one has ever stood in the same river twice. There is no pause, skip, or rewind. So, try to be a good guy at the end and try not to watch the clock or count your heartbeats as you go. Just be a good guy. There will be an end.

Uh…. I’ve never noticed it before today. Funny, here in the Pacific timezone when I’m logged on my time shows correctly but when I scan the topics without logging on my times show the Eastern zone.
Re: Clock Next To SEARCH Box
Try rotating your phone to the side. I don't see the clock either when holding my phone in the vertical orientation. It appears when I have my phone sideways.

The forum gets your time zone 'location' from your timezone setting in your user profile global settings. Before members login, the forum site uses the default Eastern time zone.

Pretty observant bunch aren’t we?
Re: Clock Next To SEARCH Box
Me, I don't really care for the clock. Takes up too much space on the page. The height of the clock web part persists all the way across the page, not just the space where you can see it.

Re: Clock Next To SEARCH Box
RE Ct_Shooter's comment, mine is analog. And it shows the correct time for my time zone whether I'm logged in or not. I've always noticed it, just didn't know what it was for so ignored it.

Re: Clock Next To SEARCH Box
Cpaspr, actually it just appears to be an analog clock, but it's not. It's digital. Lately, that seems to be a hot trend. Deep fake everything. Stay tuned -- which is a reference to analog -- about that. Deep fake images, sounds, and information are going to be everywhere.
Analog clocks use the sun, or sand, or water, or springs or batteries and gears.

Re: Clock Next To SEARCH Box
It does appear as an analog though, which I prefer over a digital readout. That is why I personally wear an analog watch. I know what you're saying CT, but the appearance is what matters to me. As far as the clock on the forum banner goes; I don't really pay any attention to it.

Re: Clock Next To SEARCH Box
Funny thing, I was just having a similar conversation with my contractor during lunch a couple days ago. The decline of the quality of education. The things they FORCE our offspring to take, and the things they have dropped from the schools.
They no longer offer shop class or home economics. They don't teach cursive handwriting. Analog clocks no longer appear in her kids schools. Her grandkids have to pause to figure out the time on standard clocks and wristwatches.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.
