Got her home and she's sleeping which the Doc said is the best thing to do.
Also went and got a prescription for Tamiflu which the Doc also says is good stuff.

After I got back I went to the neighbor's sheep ranch and got her Christmas present. Six lamb
chops and two packs of ground lamb. I grew up raising sheep and lost any taste for it but she
loves it, so, Merry Christmas next time she opens the freezer.

The Emergency Room was swamped with sick folks. I guess this is a bad one.
Best wishes for the Mrs. Coop.

Hopefully the sleep and Tamiflu will knock it down real quick. Take care of yourself too.

Woke up this morning at 4:00 am to a blaring CO2 detector. No problem thankfully but it’s 10 years old as are all the detectors so at the end of the life. I’ve been thinking about the fact they are 10 years old and needed replacing. Should have done it before my sleep was interrupted  .

37 this morning but at least I was able to get the stove going early. Nice and toasty in the house. More rain overnight and more expected today. We’ve gone from parched to soggy. High today in the low 40’s. Cold returns after Christmas with lows closer to 20 and highs in the low 30’s, more typical for this time of the year.

Pretty quiet Christmas Eve planned. We are going to load up the dogs and take a drive around Deer Park and look at Christmas lights. Tomorrow my son is coming over for prime rib, again a very quiet Christmas. California family is staying home this year.

37º and sunny. Most of the snow is gone for now. The rest of December is supposed to be mild. Have a standing rib roast in the oven and will stop at my niece's home this afternoon to give my sister her gift.
My bird feeders have been swamped for weeks including 9 turkey hens last Saturday and for the last 2 days it has been just a couple of birds. Not hearing them in the morning like I used to. Not seeing hawks or other predators. Weird.
I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Christmas.

37 this Christmas morning with more rain overnight but dry now. We could see the upper 40’s today, pretty incredible for this time of the year. A few more days of the mild temps and then lows in the 20’s.

There is a big fruit orchard community just outside of Spokane and one of the shops puts together unbaked pies and they are available at the local grocery store. My wife decided not to do a homemade pie for today so I picked up one of the frozen pies. It’s in the oven now and is starting to give off a wonderful aroma. Next in the oven is a standing rib roast. I do the low slow roast, searing it on the griddle first then in a 200 temp oven for probably four hours or so (7.5 lbs) This method helps keep the doneness consistent from edge to edge. Mmmmmm Son is coming over later for dinner and I picked up a new bottle of Buffalo Trace whiskey to enjoy.

BTW, I got a peek at Santa last night and he was wearing shorts, a tank top and flip flops.
