What are the odds?
Without making this political (please DON’T), I am just curious what people think the odds are of one or more Provinces voting to become part of the United States.
I would welcome them, but have no idea if it is even a realistic possibility.

Zero. Zero chance it will happen. Zero thoughts about it one way or another. Love Zero bullets, though.PatientWolf wrote: ↑Tue Oct 28, 2025 8:12 pmWithout making this political (please DON’T), I am just curious what people think the odds are of one or more Provinces voting to become part of the United States.

My only thoughts about anything north of the border are that I'd sorta like to see the Blue Jays dethrone the Dodgers.
Re: What are the odds?
Not going to happen. Each side would want a specific type of state added that align with the power in the Senate.
So it will not happen.
So it will not happen.

Re: What are the odds?
It’s a shame. I hadn’t thought about what it would do to the balance here. I was more thinking of the people above the border gaining back freedoms.
Re: What are the odds?
I think they should leave things as they are and just be good neighbors to each other.

Well, anything is possible. But, it is probably best to leave things as they are. In a few years, things could change again. And, some may not like the results.

Re: What are the odds?
I can not ever see a scenario where a part of Canada decides to join the US as another state. They'd make themselves into their own autonomous entity first, and that won't happen either.
I live in eastern/central NY, and there is frequent talk about how the southeast part of the state should be its own separate state. This refers to the areas around what is commonly called NYC, including Long Island, the five boros, and a bit of the areas around those. The population is much more dense there, and the politics that result are almost polar opposites from what they are over the vast majority of the rest of the state. As logical as that may seem, it'll never happen.

Kinda like that here in the West. For quite some time far Northern California has wanted to split off into the state of 'Jefferson' and more recently become part of the Greater Idaho of Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington.rickhem wrote: ↑Fri Oct 31, 2025 9:20 amI can not ever see a scenario where a part of Canada decides to join the US as another state.
