Yesterday, not at the bench but out in the carport I had another casting session. I made a little over 200, 234-235gr 45's, most of these will be loaded in some acp brass and put through the BH and Vaquero. Also cast 30 something 38-55 that dropped 249.5, I came across this looking for the 45 mold. I don't remember buying it, I mentioned it in a group text and a buddy said that he had either sold it or gave it to me several years ago. I still don't remember it.

This morning I sized and pc'd the 265's then sized again, they are ready to be stuffed. 8-)

While the second batch was baking I sized the 45's, I'll wait a few days and let them cure before coating them.

Here ya go, some going in...

Been tumbling several hundred shells over the last week. Tonight I sorted according to caliber . I now have some 38 special,357 magnum and 9mm shells that need to be Deprimed and flared.

Practicing fold crimping of once fired 410 shotshell by hand... It's tough to get it right.

The local gun club, that my neighbor and I joined a few months ago, is having a turkey shoot tomorrow. This is the club that hosts our high school trap team. Their version of the turkey shoot includes a bunch of quick events that involve mostly shotguns, but they do have .22 rifle events, centerfire rifle events, and a handgun event. The rifle and handgun events I have plenty of ammo for, but not shotgun. I haven't shot trap in well over two decades, but I still have all the gear. So I got the Ponsness Warren all set up and loaded 50 rounds of 12 gauge, 1 1/8oz loads with #8 shot, over 700x powder. Just hope I don't embarrass myself tomorrow.

Had a guy donate some 32 acp brass for my gallery load project. I don’t think I’ve ever seen brass so dirty. Ran it thru the tumbler and it cleaned up but not as shiny as normal. Not a big deal for the intended use. I’ve never worked with brass this small and it was hard to separate it from the pins.

Nice bunch of brass. Remember the .32 ACP. is semi rimmed and will work in most .32 revolvers.

I have always heard that but never tried it until yesterday. As I plan to shoot these round ball gallery loads in my Ruger SP 101 327 I tried some 32 acp ammo in it. Extracted perfectly.

Mostly likely as that seems to be the recommended method. First I’ll try both a standard and magnum primer alone and then add a little bit of powder. Seems like the suggested amount is a 22lr case full. Love that exact science. Bullseye is recommended but I don’t have any. I do have Unique and Power Pistol which are pretty close to Bullseye on the burn chart.

I wonder if they would also fit/shoot/cycle in a Henry 327 Fed Mag :?:

32 ACP will also fit/shoot in old black powder 32 revolvers, but not a good idea. Those old revolvers can't take the pressure of a modern 32 ACP ammo.

A .22 short case full of bullseye always worked for me. Reddot is almost the same burning rate.

I thought about that too. I’m guessing that with the low velocity of my gallery load the ball may not clear the 20” barrel.

Ive been workin with 9mm and three different pistols. Two different powders, Unique and HS-6. I also have 231 which did do well in one of my 3 pistols. But Im trying to find one for all three. CZ TS 2 CZ75 B Tactical and a Springfield Ronin 1911. The 1911 isnt performing well at all. I took it to a gunsmith here locally I found to have hime check it out and see if he can get it right. I have run about 14 different loads through it with those powders and a 115 Berrys and some xtreme 124 FMJ. My CZs will shoot 1 inch groups with 5 rounds off the bags at 15 yards with the right powder. So far Unique is leading by a very little. HS-6 works well also. I havent taken any pics of targets with them but today i also took out the Marlin 336 38-55. I shot a couple of targets with it as I put a Sig Romeo red dot on it to play with. I dont really like the red to much and I may change it to a green reflex in the near future.

First Pic is 18 gr 5744 with a 245gr cast
Second pic is 10 gr of Unique with the same cast bullet. Both were shot at 50 yards off the bags. Both targets were 5 rounds. That 10 gr load might be a keeper :o

Fwiw, i've never got plated berrys or xtreme bullets to shoot worth a rats rear end.

For 9mm, i like clean shot and bullseye
