I took these two pictures today and AI identified them. I always thought Little Girl was a Maine Coon but in reading AI was correct.

Little Girl was 17 pounds at two years till she went on a diet. She is now eleven years old and weighs 13 pounds.

How do you get AI to identify a photo? Leroy is a large cat, over 20 pounds and maybe a little overweight but I wouldn't consider him fat. He's pretty long-haired so he looks wider than he actually is. I've always wondered if he had some Maine Coon or other big cat breed in him.

Sadly my Wife's little cat Oreo is dying of cancer. She used to be very playful and a little spitfire, but now she just
lies on the couch and only gets up to eat, drink, or go to her litter box.

We took her to the vet and were told we could spend thousands to give her a few more weeks, or we could let her go.
She is absolutely terrified of vets and we decided not to have them kill her, but to bring her home to live out her days
with us.

Carol still brushes her every evening.

It does it automatically with my 16 Pro Max.

We had a horse with cancer years ago and did not know it until we had spent lots of money to try to keep him going as long as we could. In and out of vets, meds, shots, etc.

Once we put him down we donated him to the vet college so they could learn from him. They called me a few days later and said he was full of cancer.

Never again did we or will we prolong the inevitable. Quality of life is everything.

I totally agree and if the cat looks to be suffering I'll have a vet friend of ours come to the house and put her down.
Of course I will need Carol to go along with this. It's her cat.

It never gets any easier. Every animal we’ve ever put down be it horse, dog or cat, took a piece of us with ‘em.

It's really rough doing the "Old Yeller" style. I have always preferred that way when living in the countryside. When living in suburbia, it was done by veterinarian.

So sorry to hear about Oreo's condition Coop. We are cat lovers as well. Our Bodhi is a 13 year old Rag Doll and he has certainly slowed down.

I volunteer at Carolina Tiger Rescue.We just lost one of our tigers. His name was Roscoe. He was 16 yrs old and lived his last 14 yrs with us. He was a rescue. He was a shy guy so live in the back of the sanctuary not on tour. More than two or three people in a group made him anxious but meet with him one on one and he was responsive to you , would give you chuff or two, roll on his back like a house cat to get belly scratch. Of course, that never happens as we are a no touch facility. He was a favorite of staff and the volunteers and never lack visitors. The keepers started to notice behavior that indicated he had a brain tumor. After a period of time his quality of life said it was time. Since we knew when he was going to pass, a steady stream of staff and volunteers came by see him one last time. When he was given his injection, he walked over to his tree and laid down in the shade and went to sleep. There was close to 15 people with him and a lot tears were shed. We lose cats time to time and we know they all have an end time but still hurts. His remains will be cremated and placed in our memorial garden with all the other animals that have passed. He will have marker with name and dates. He will not be forgotten.

I remember when you posted that you had begun to work with big cats. I was impressed then and I'm very glad to read that you have continued, but I'm so very sorry about Roscoe.
