I do not drink city tap water, so I keep a lot of quality spring water on hand. Can never have too much drinking water.

She Who Must Be Obeyed (SWMBO) and I will go to Costco soon and I think I will go heavy on coffee. I dare not cross SWMBO in the mornings before has at least one cup of coffee, preferably two. Her sole addiction, other than shoes, so better safe than sorry.

I guess coffee is a survival item.

My grand daughter went to Florida last month. She brought me back a coffee mug that says "Grumpy Gator before coffee".

Carhartt t-shirts and henly shirts. My grandkids say I need to expand my wardrobe colors. I have a problem with blue & yellow colors so when I shop (online of course) I go grey, black and charcoal colored shirts. So they purchase more vivid color Carhartt shirts!

I’ve heard canned goods have an excellent shelf life. Excellent like in 20 years. The drawback is it might turn to a mushy consistency. Still that mush has all the nutrients. Some foods that contain acidic ingredients like tomatoes does not age well as it absorbs the taste of the tin. Chicken and beef based store the best.

Keep from freezing and best under 60F, dry and out of direct sunshine for the longest storage.

I keep about six months rations meaning 1,000 calories a day.

Might buy a big screen TV while prices are still low enough before supply runs low and store it until the current old one gives out.

We've had ours a bit more than 10yrs. I do descale occasionally (vinegar flush). We have incredibly hard water and it will scale (plug) up the orifices of the coffee makers. We also have a Nespresso that is 2-3 yrs old.

We fill the side tank with half water, half white vinegar. We cycle the Keurig 2-3 times to get it into the internal tank. Then let the machine sit turned on, so the water/vinegar inside the tank stays hot, for 2-3 hours. Then we cycle repeatedly the rest of the water/vinegar from the external tank through. After that we repeatedly cycle clean water through multiple times to flush out the water/vinegar. Repeat every 12-18 months.

I don't think that my brewer (K-Supreme Plus) will keep the water/vinegar in the machine hot for that long, it starts brewing instantly even when it's been sitting overnight so I think it must just heat the water as it needs it. It actually has a descale mode, not sure what that does differently from a regular brew. I'll try your 50/50 mix. I wonder what the mark-up on a bottle of Keurig descaler is, it is made with citric acid instead of acetic acid. They are both effective but they say citric acid is a little more effective at descaling. Both are dirt cheap, I may just order a pound of citric acid, $10 and 2 tablespoons makes 4 cups of descaler.

I usually have just 1 cup of coffee a day so if I made a whole pot of coffee I'd be dumping out a lot of coffee. I suppose I could use something like a french press but way too much hassle to go through every morning or maybe an espresso maker but too expensive for a good one. I'm happy with my Keurig coffee.

The Keurig I currently use is 5 years old, the ones I stockpiled were: a raffle prize, a door prize and 1 that a son of mine won as door prize while here on vacation from Denmark and couldn’t or didn’t want to send it hom, so inherited. None of my other children don’t drink coffees!
