Nature's little games......

Post by fortyshooter » Wed Mar 05, 2025 11:54 am

This tree has been in the middle of the creek for a long time and for how long it has had that split I don't know. Have been many wind storms move thru over the last couple years including a big line of storms hitting us today. Looks like somebody tried to cut it or is it just a split in the rot? Don't know and I never touched it. Will it still stand or will Mother Nature just give it a bit more lean? Will know next time I get down there. I love how the trunk/roots split up the water flow like little rapids!

It may well be a natural split in the trunk but it sure bears the resemblance that a chainsaw left it's mark.

The winds that we have around here today would most likely bring it down in short order.
