I never set an alarm unless I have a early appointment. I usually get up and stay up (I have a built in alarm that gets me up every couple of hours) between 9 and 11 so would prefer the extra daylight later in the day.

I think people naturally get up early in the longer daylight hours. What going to Daylight Savings Time does is keep us on the same schedule. I remember in the late 50’s when stores had winter and summer hours effectively doing a daylight time in a period when we didn’t use DST. We want to switch it’s just those weekends when we do switch that people don’t like.

This happens more in the north. In the south it doesn’t matter that much. People on the equator don’t need the change but those living further and further away do until you live so far north you get too much daylight and then it doesn’t matter what the clock says.

Changing between Daylight and Standard is like taking cold medicine. You don’t like the taste of it but it makes you feel better.

I quit wearing a watch shortly after retiring but found these one handed watches interesting. Especially after retiring and even before how un-important is it to know the exact time, within 15 minutes is usually more than adequate.

I am more of a morning person so I like standard time. I don't care if is light at 10:00pm because I am probably trying to sleep.
