Be very careful to not accidentally mark one of those e-mails as spam. I get mine with my yahoo mail and accidentally hit mark as spam instead of delete and quit getting them. I could log on to my USPS account and see them but didn't get the daily e-mails until a USPS tech fixed it for me.

Question for those of you receiving Social Security. Have you received MAILED 1099’s yet? I know I can log on and print them out but according to the SSA website they were supposed to be mailed no later than 01/31. If so, should be here by now. Government!
Wife and I haven’t gotten ours either Hatch as of last weekend. Im not home so my neighbor is checking my mail. I don’t know if she has checked since Saturday. Last year we had them before the end of January. Not sure what the hold up is

I saw my tax man yesterday. I still have one more income statement coming so he can’t finish it yet. Right now lowering my federal and state income taxes along with my property taxes is my best way of getting a raise. Moving to Wisconsin has lowered my sales tax by 5% although it cave me a 2% income tax increase on about a third of my income.

I did an income and expense comparison between Washington and Wisconsin and in effect my income doubled moving here. When you figure in the proceeds from selling and buying in real estate the income from those proceeds compared to the increase in property taxes in Washington has given me another 20%.

All the extra money came from the exchange of living in a big city where it’s currently 42F to where it was -9F last night and the nearest latte is 15 miles away. The funny thing is there were about 1,500 people in a square mile in Woodinville and there are 12 here yet I have more friends here.

Plus I can plink out my back door here.

Thanks for the info CT and Big Al. Maybe it’s an east west thing. My wife and I both have online accounts with SSA and i wonder if those with online access are expected to print them ourselves. Which I’ll probably do.

I have the usps email alerts too and I sure like that. Haven’t looked yet today so maybe my 1099’s are “in the mail”.

I made an appointment for next month. I think I have all my statements by now, but should certainly have them in a month.

Ive had an online account for quite a few years and up until this year I have always got one in the mail. So if they changed it nothing was said. My wife and I both went to our online accounts downloaded them and forwarded them to our tax person. Im tired of waiting for the feds.

E-filed on the Saturday the 8th and the federal deposit is pending in my checking account this morning. Less than four business days.

I did the same thing yesterday and as expected it was a pain in the butt. I use a user name and password but now the SSA want’s us to use a third party to log on. So I set up an account via the third party and of course since my wife’s account was using the same company and we have a shared email it wouldn’t allow me to set up an account with the same email. I got thru it but what a pain. Grrrrrr. I’m planning on plugging the numbers into H&R Block online service today.

Filed my taxes this morning, eze peezy with H&R Block online service. Bu my taxes are pretty simple using the 1040 SR form. The standard deduction went up $1600 this year for those of us over 65. $1500 for those under 65.

Still haven’t received my SSA 1099’s in the mail yet. Looked at last years return file and SSA did mail them to us.
