AR15 A2 Stock
AR15 A2 Stock
Want To Buy -
I have an AR receiver in the back of the safe which should be finished. If anyone has an A2 style stock in good condition, with the stock screw and washer, unwanted or leftover from a project, send me a PM.
Don't excommunicate me for owning a black rifle, I am nostalgic.
Thanks. - James

Re: AR15 A2 Stock
There are more varieties of stocks for the AR rifles than you can ever imagine. Literally pages and pages from MagPul, and that's just one supplier.
I put a lower together last year, and went with the UBR2 stock. It's currently attached to a 6.8SPC upper, and I like it. But you can pick something for adjustability, for light weight, for precision use, tons of options. And the standard A2 is often what gets left behind, so you stand a good chance of getting a good deal.
What upper are you think for it?

I haven't gotten that far in my planning. I have the lower receiver and parts to assemble it, less the buttock, and I want to finish that project. I am waffling between an 18" upper in 5.56 NATO or maybe an upper in 7.62X39 Soviet. I hesitate to commit to the 7.62X39 upper because I have heard of feeding problems.
In any event, when it is finished, it may return to the back of the safe while I wait for some killer deal on an upper.

I have been hunting with/shooting a 7.62x39 PSA upper for years. NEVER EVER has a feeding or cycling problem.HenryFan wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2024 11:32 amRick -

Many of us on this site own and shoot black rifles. This is my Ruger in 300 Blackout which is a caliber to consider if you’re thinking 7.62x39. Nice feature of the 300 BO is you can use your regular .223/5.56 mags. This is a good shooting rifle that with Big Al’s help I have a great load for shooting the Speer 125 TNT.

Thanks for the post, goo information. The ability to use .223/5.56 magazines is a plus since I would avoid buying 7.62X39 specific magazines. Then again, it is a caliber I do not own and I have forced myself to limit new firearms to caliber I already use.
