I’m hoping to watch it if I stay awake. I just can’t wrap myself up to thinking it legit and not just a money game. I’m really hoping one dominates the other. Just my two cents

Been watching, it's midnight central, and the last undercard is starting. Two females rematch for a title. (Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Seranno) The other undercards have been pretty good.

The 2nd and 3rd matches were good bloody and competitive.

The Tyson match was as I expected it would be with a 28 year old vs a 58 year old…

Tyson didn't go down, but he didn't have the power to put Paul down either.
Paul won by unanimous decision.

I watched the fight and I wonder if Paul held back a bit choosing to win by TKO v KO?????? I’m not much of a fight fan so my opinion is not based on knowledge only speculation. Could be Paul had respect for a past champion and legend and for Tyson’s age too and didn’t want to knock him out??????

Missed most of the undercard as Gonzaga had a game at the same time. Saw most of the ladies fight, what a vicious event that was. Lots of respect for both of them.

Tyson pretty much just stood there protecting his head waiting for his 20 million dollars. I was very sorry I stayed up to watch it.

I watched the fight, waited thru the undercard and am Glad I Did, the undercard fights were good fights.
I think I agree with what Hatch is thinking. Paul went into this fight planning to Knock out Mike Tyson and become a "Legend" but several things happened to affect his ability to knock out Iron Mike.

He spoke to a lot of reporters prior to the fight, and he mentioned that Tyson is his father's Idol. When he told his father Mike Tyson had agreed to meet him in the ring, his Dad broke down in tears. His son had made it and was going to box his Idol. Can he really lay out his Dad's Idol?

During the first round, Tyson threw a "vicious punch" to Paul's head and he stepped back and shook it off. I think then he realized that Tyson didn't have that power he once had. In his past fights, that punch would have ended the fight, they would have been counting... to ten. Paul knew then he could run the fight to the end, BOX Tyson to a decision and win.
(But, he was still Tyson, so he wasn't stupid about it, there is still the point of the chin and the side of the jaw...) He protected those.

Tyson's legs were gone, he couldn't stalk and move like he used to, and with less power, he had little chance.
I watched... but... the fight was over for me when that first punch failed to even weaken Paul.

Either one of the female fighters would have beaten the crap out of Tyson.

I'm not ready to go that far.
I've watched all those "I can beat any man" videos. Huge difference in the ability of females to take a blow.
Tyson's half power punch probably would have knocked out either female.

I watched a pro-female MMA fighter get in the ring with an amateur unranked male. Didn't go one round and she tapped out.

I hate to say it, but as fast as Mike is in the promo videos and in the training ring, he doesn't have the reaction speed he used to.

Mike's waiting for that one good punch and I don't think Jake was willing to give it to him. The few solid punches that Tyson delivered rocked Jake's world. At the same time, Mike took a lot of hits from Jake that reminded him why he retired. Getting hit in the face sucks.

Add to that, Tyson's obvious knee injury (or abused knee), and you see why he could not chase Jake down.

What's the lesson?

I brought boxing to a crowd of people who hadn't seen a great match in decades. It shows that 60-year-old men can rock your world if you are stupid enough to get close and that every punk teenager has the opportunity to grow up and be something more.
