Im saying some for Canada also. There is a guy who lives 3 hours north of Edmonton who comes to the gulf for the winter with our group. He is quite a character and alot of fun.

Polls I looked at last night were 48% for her, and 47% for him. Going to be a nail biter no matter which camp you are in. Hope people keep their poop in a group down there!

We just had our provincial elections here in British Columbia and it was all decided by less than 100 votes. 56 in one riding and 28 in another. It didn’t go the right way unfortunately.

Well, we voted and then went to lunch. I was number 302 that voted this morning in our rural town hall.
There was not a line, but they were coming and going regularly. It looked like a good turnout.

We voted at 3:45 PM. There were lots of cars at the Town Garage, but people came and went quickly. I had to wait because they had to restart something. It was only a few minutes and then we were in business. Our grand daughter came with us and seemed to enjoy it. The stickers at least. Our town historian was there as her office is in the Town Garage also. I'd never met her, but that all changed when she offered to take pictures of my grand daugher and I while we waited for Mary. She took us into her office where there was a small collection of Town memorabilia. Our grand daughter liked the candy. She offered to do a family tree for me, so I accepted. Our grand daughter's mother stopped to vote after work and we ran into her. The girls all went one way and I went back home to set up the pressure washer to clean off Mary's new ride. It was 74F when we went to vote. A beautiful day.
My mother used to volunteer as an election day worker. It was much different back then. The only electronics were the radio playing in the corner of that Town Garage. You went into a voting booth, pulled a lever that closed a curtain, physically moved tabs for the person you wanted to vote for and then pulled the lever the other way, opening the curtain. My mother said that a sheriff's deputy came shortly after the polls closed and put the business parts of the voting machines into the car and brought them to the County election headquarters in the city. The votes were tabulated and the vote parts of the machines were locked away for a certain amount of time.
It sounds complicated, but I felt better voting that way than how I just did.
Let's hope everyone plays fair today and congratulations to the winners.

I voted yesterday. The lines reminded me of Disney World a few decades ago. Didn't take more than 35 minutes, despite walking back and forth the serpentine line a few times. I like the new system we have. You get a blank ballet and insert it into the machine. The machine then prints out a paper ballet when you finish voting. You take that ballot to the scanner and feed it in. That way there is a real paper trail in addition to the electronic data.

It was a decisive vote for you guys, so neither side is likely to claim cheating was involved. It came out in the news here that the riding that gave the “wrong” team the win, was actually decided by only 27 votes, and they found 14 votes that went UNCOUNTED, making it only 13 votes deciding the fate of 6 million people. I think the rule should be you need 60% to win. A 13 vote margin of victory should result in an automatic re-vote. Ugh. At least our federal election (On or before Oct 20 of ‘25) looks to be resoundingly headed in the right direction.

Went out Tuesday morning to roll my garbage out and the containers took off down the street towards our voting center. Found them late this morning on another street turned over smelling like beer. Must have been one heck of a party last night!
