Where can I find .410 ammo?
Where can I find .410 ammo?
I’m getting ready to get a Henry .410 single shot. My problem is everywhere I look is out or carrying names I’ve never heard of. I was looking for
7-1/2 or 6, 8 for upland game. I see a little here and there on line but not sure which places are better about delivery, prices and especially shipping. If I can’t. Get it I’ll have to settle for a 20 gauge. I’ve got a Remington 870 pump but don’t like it and I’m trying to recoil down. Has anyone used one of the shoulder recoil pads? If I was shoot a slug or buckshot which I it’s only one maybe two shots. But upland game will be more I’m sure in a day. We have pretty good grouse population up north and they’re not hunted hard. Rabbits can be plentiful for a year then the coyotes run through an area and is bad next the year, the year after there’s plenty again. So I want less recoil for multiple shots. Even Cabela’s here doesn’t have any guy said no idea when they’ll get some. I’m willing to buy multiple boxes but want to get something that patterns we.. I’d hate to buy 6 boxes two or three of a couple brands and regret it. I know some of this has been discussed in the past and additional info greatly appreciated!
Thanks

The 410 production run was about three months ago. I would say you won’t see it again till mid-summer.

Saw some Remington Express on the shelf at Sportsmans Warehouse. I guess that's no help to you in Maine.

Re: Where can I find .410 ammo?
I too had a lot of trouble finding 410. After a few years, believe it or not, I finally found the last 2 boxes at Wal-Mart. But that wasn't enough. Through Ammo Seek or one of the sites like it, I found a pack of 10 Boxes for a reasonable at Molly's place in Maryland:
https://www.mymollysfirearms.com/
But double check with Ammo Seek. You may find a better deal.

I have found a few boxes at WW from time to time in the past month or so.

Availability is getting better. A couple of years ago it was awful. I’m thinking from here on out 410 should be more and more available.
Re: Where can I find .410 ammo?
I see it at Walmart occasionally. Not cheap though. Some sporting clay clubs carry it.

Re: Where can I find .410 ammo?
Try this site, they often have sales. For some reason, 410 is ridiculously expensive. My wife loves her 410 but has taken to shooting one of the 12 gauge shotguns more and more because of the price of the 410 ammo.

I have ordered from them often and been pleased. They often have free shipping sales....

Re: Where can I find .410 ammo?
Wow, I just checked my site, they only have ONE option for 410, $8.00 per round. 12 gauge they have ammo as low as .36 cents per round. Where is the logic?

Somewhat sparsely and when it does, expensive.

Re: Where can I find .410 ammo?
Have y'all checked the site I posted?
Depending on what type of 410 you are looking for though, but in my opinion, $20 per box of 25 ain't bad.

Re: Where can I find .410 ammo?
It may not be cheap, especially compared to 12 and 20, but
here it's cheaper there than anywhere else I see it locally.
My current stash is somewhere around 900 rds.

Targetsportsusa.com has several different brands and shot sizez.
Re: Where can I find .410 ammo?
I went another route on this and bought the survival reloader from eBay.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/124165006574
It's made like the old Lee Loaders so you only need a mallet of some sort. I went through having a hard time finding .410 ammo, like a few of us did, and bought this as a solution to that problem. I already have a couple thousand 209 primers along with 7½ and 8 shot from back in trapshooting days, I have 296 and Lil Gun powder, only needed to buy wads. I figure I can make up a few as needed, and maybe even cook up some custom stuff. One thought was to load some shells with BBs, but way too many places talk about that being a very bad idea, so I won't do that. Well, at least not as a normal load, may do something with only a few in-line to help chase the geese from our pond in the spring. The Red Ryder requires closer proximity, and if I can do it from the porch, that's easier. Full disclosure, I haven't used it yet, but I have hulls and wads ready to go.
Anyway, for the cost of a few boxes of commercial, I'm able to roll my own. Of course purchasing this meant that now everywhere I go I see .410 ammo readily available, isn't that always the way???

Yup. Thanks for buying the tool. Those of us looking for .410 appreciate your sacrifice.

Re: Where can I find .410 ammo?
Made my weekly visit to ww, beer and ammo were on the shopping list.
As you can see they had 4 boxes of 2.5" #9's.
I got 2 and left 2.
so 50 more rds of 410 to the stash.
Also got 2 boxes of the Fed. AutoMatch 40gr 22lr., one box of Win. 170gr PowerPoints because they were cheaper than I'd seen 'em before, $24.10, and a 15 rd box of 2o ga slugs for $13.62 a box. Went by Academy and picked up 1000 lpp's $89.99 + tax of course.

Re: Where can I find .410 ammo?
Those are the exact same 2 that I found at W-M that time. But it took about 3 years to find some, lol. Glad I bought the pack of 10 boxes online soon after giving up on stores.
