Freezing fog is tough stuff, especially when it hits the roads. KC area has too many icy conditions during the winter, which is harder to deal with than snow. I was once in this type of fog years ago....do not like it at all. Hope it doesn't happen in your area, DD.

However, it is beautiful to see when it covers a natural landscape, such as seen in this picture:

It's tough on bushes and tree branches too. We get it sometimes and it flattens stuff.

Anyone see Magnificent Seven?

You'll like it. It's a well told and exciting story of good overcoming evil. It's also a remake/adaption of a highly regarded Japanese movie written and directed by Akira Kurosawa that was filmed four years earlier, "The Seven Samurai".

I did enjoy the movie. Rather predictable but still enjoyable.

Wish the firearms in the movie actually had recoil and not just puffs of smoke from the barrel. Would be more realistic.

Did see a Henry though. Mostly 1873s but there was a Henry.

I liked Mag 7. Nice to see a western on the big screen. It was good fun. I saw several open top Colt revolvers like mine. Cool.

54° and raining hard. 60 miles away as the crow flys the town of Gatlinburg is being evacuated because the whole town and some outlying areas are on fire. Hope this rain helps.

45* and belting the rain down. I don't hunt in the rain anymore so I will be in my room doing projects I can make some headway on. I don't like getting guns soaked in the rain and then have to finish season with them only to maybe find rust on them later. This is where the synthetic stocked stainless rifles are the way to go. Have a nice day and pray the rain in the S.E. puts out the fires.

hopefully the first rain in many moons in the mountains of Western NC/Eastern Tenn will help fight the wildfires that have been burning for way too long .... my home area is just east of Gatlinburg where areas are being evacuated --- http://wset.com/news/local/gatlinburg-f ... ghborhoods --- I don't recall of ever hearing of such evacuations before

Yeah, its pretty bad. The smoke has been pretty bad over here. I feel for all those folks being evacuated. Terrible time of the year for this to happen.

Very sorry to read about the wildfires in NC. This is a very common occurrence in parts of Southern California but it is always worrisome nonetheless.

Weather here is very cool and won't get much into the 60s today. Guess that California 'winter' weather I've been asking for has arrived!

No wild fires here as we have had more than 8 inches or rain this month. Last month we had 13 inches. We get high winds this time of year and with the ground soaked trees start to blow over on power lines.

It's a lot warmer this morning than it has been for a while - 36* and rising. The downside is that it's overcast with the threat of rain, but hey, we can't have everything.

I've had my first morning cuppa in the new Henry mug. I don't know if I brewed it differently, but it definitely tasted better!
