I think I’m being stalked by a grizzly

Post by Hatchdog » Sat Jun 08, 2024 10:42 am

This article was in the morning paper. This grizzly was trapped in the Onion Creek area where our property is located. Then it was transported to the Sullivan Lake area where my cousin and I spend many years hunting elk and my wife and I spend many years camping. Now the same bear has left the Sullivan area and traveled to the Chewela Wa area which is the next town of any size up the highway from my home. (Maybe 25 miles so a pretty good distance).

Hmmm, I think he’s following me….

I saw this The Spokesman Review article on the The Spokesman Review app and thought you’d be interested.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean he's not out to get you.

Seems he has developed a taste for chicken. Just don’t ever leave the house smelling like a chicken.

So happy that Washington is getting to enjoy cuddly grizzlies that have been transplanted from Wyoming. We have plenty of them, and are glad to share with you. No need to thank us.

I had a close encounter with two grizzlies on a kill last fall while tracking a giant mule deer my neighbor shot. They were eating a different deer (WT), and we spooked them off it. Some very loud noises and huffing and pacing in the trees around us. Scared the living poop out of me, to be honest. We got out of there pronto. Made me rethink why I was out there for a few minutes (until we got out of the slide chute/meadow they were in and I spotted a nice mulie buck just uphill from me. Then it was game on again! This season I hope to be packing my freshly re-barreled .44 magnum carbine with a lot of fat boolets in it!

Sometimes they sleepwalk through your winter camp.

Holy messy pants red and roper. I’m liking my grizzly encounters as there are miles in between me and Mr. Grizzly. :D

Print from turkey hunting about 3/4 mile from my property. Looks like it stepped on its own track. Blue is rear foot heel (I think), front pad is green, toes yellow and claws red. Happy to have a 12 gauge semi in my hands. It had stopped raining only around 2 hours earlier, and we had walked out past these tracks about 45 mins earlier and took the photo on the way back. So he had walked by not long before us. Things that go bump in the night…
