Today's pair will be a Taurus 1911 and my SIG P220, one of my two EDCs
I checked some 200 grain semiwadcutter hollowpoints with the dillon gauge and they passed, so they were the ones I used for the Taurus 1911 I bought a few months ago and had the new sights installed on. I shot two five shot strings at 10 yards, not bad for the first time with this gun. At least it grouped.
Satisfied, I moved back to the 15 yard line and shot three more five shot strings. They were still left, so I knew I needed to move the sights eventually, but they grouped about two or three inches left. I'll leave the sights for now in case it's the shooter. I thought I took a picture but didn't. I pulled two shots badly, for me. One 6" out and another 12" out. The rest were in a nice group, some tight in about 3" and the rest in five to six inches. Twenty five shots total, I put that one down and picked up the SIG.
I shot eighteen rounds at ten yards and was done. No need to shoot more, I will just keep shooting this one and the Smith M&P340 at each opportunity. But... the SIG and I are very familiar with one another. Let's just say Tina would want me to be holding the SIG if I needed to take a shot when SHE was the hostage.
If I didn't have the SIG I'd want to be holding a long gun. I hope to be shooting at Least once a week.
