Just curious. I don't believe it would had broken any patterns as I see other gun makers making them similar, but in my opinion they should had made one in the style of a Ruger Vaquero for example.

I might have mentioned this before, but Henry should had taken some kind of survey on what the public would had preferred before designing one. Before I bought my Ruger, I was hoping Henry would make one. Sorry to say, but I would had passed on that one anyway.

Now I'm hoping they make a Double Barrel Side by Side Hammerless Shotgun. Looking for one like an L C Smith or A H Fox.

Very much so if you watch the Untouchables movie with Kevin Costner and Andy Garcia who played a Chicago police officer who was on the the Untouchables team. Garcia used a Colt Official Police and also a S&W Model 10. Here's the Colt.


The Official Police was also made in 22 LR and used as a practice gun for training. Our local shop has one of these in nice shape and the tag on it is $1100.

I think that at least part of the problem with the Big Boy Revolver is the MSRP. As I stated in my post, the Charter Arms example has things the Henry doesn't for less than half of the price. And yes Charter is made in USA and has the same factory for life back up as Henry.

NO. I can't pass the ugly. Or the price.........For the same price you can get a Smith or Ruger. They are where my .44 spl's are.

X2......Iffen they were giving them away I'd pass.........Even an RG looks better...........My 44's are S&W and Ruger......Real guns with real looks.

i have a terrible feeling that in the next year or so Henry will stop making them and then six months later there will be a lot of "Oh I wished I had bought one" but not from me.

I think Henry has a good idea, kind of like how Smith and Wesson came out with a level action rifle, or Ruger acquired Marlin: it compliments its major product. Some people like sticking with a particular brand (Ford, GM, Toyota, etc.). They have confidence in that particular brand. So, I suspect Henry will sell some revolvers. If it will be worth Henry's while? Time will tell.

Me, I typically consider historical performance of an item. Since the revolver is new, I withhold judgment, until it proves itself or not. But, the last revolver I purchased (last month), price was a major concern. I wanted something not too expensive yet made well. So, I went with a Rossi. I have not owned a Rossi. However, I have read good things about the brand. So far, I am happy with it. It seems to be well made, accurate as I can shoot it, and the cost was about half of the major brands (S&W, Ruger, Henry and alike).

As for looks, that was a consideration. I wanted what I consider to be a traditional look, but with a bit of modern refinement. Henry seems traditional (1,800s). Yet, I seem to like a revolver that reflects at least mid 1,900s. Maybe, that is the time frame that I can reminisce the most with, a not too distant past.

GFK, I have an older Rossi revolver. Says Amadeo Rossi, I have no idea how old it is.
It's a da/sa 22 lr. It shoots fine and I have no idea how many rounds I've put through it.

I've had the Big Boy Revolver for about a month now and I'm completely happy with it. It's solidly built, shoots where I aim it and the profile is small enough to where I can carry it every day in a custom-built Simply Rugged holster.

I wasn't looking for another single-action that looks like an 1873 Colt – I have plenty that either are or closely resemble those. The Henry is a tool that's well-suited for the job I need it to do, looks be damned.

I have S&W's and a Ruger. The fact that I think they're good looking is just a bonus. MOST important is that they do their job. I won't be entering them in any beauty contests. Besides, looks are in the eye of the beholder. The Henry is not bad looking IMO. I don't think a threat, or a paper target gives a dang what your gun looks like...I don't. Just be well made, reliable and shoot straight thank you.
