Today is always a big celebration for our family. My Mother's old dining table which she purchased from Montgomery
Ward in 1946 sits proudly in our formal dining room and I have photos of my extended family seated around it going
back to the 1950s. We won't have a very large crowd today, but it will still be a joyous occasion. My family has a history
of service and we love our country with all our hearts.
Happy Thanksgiving to all and I hope your day is joyous and proud as well.

BTW, what's your favorite side dish? Mine is corn casserole. Carol makes it with red and green peppers. :D

We're just having Thanksgiving here at the home. I don't know what is on the menu besides turkey.

I’m pretty simple when it comes to food and my favorite side is mashed potatoes with good homemade turkey gravy.

A very happy Thanksgiving to all the HRF members and among everything I’m thankful for included are you members here who I enjoy kibitzing with.

I had a traditional Thanksgiving diner at my neighbors. Best part is I got to take home leftovers. Their son and grandson came up from the city and we shot pistol for about a half hour.

Last year we had to cancel Thanksgiving because I had Covid. I wasn't very sick, bug I was
contagious. This year it was a small group. Just Carol and I and our youngest daughter and
her husband and son, but it was really nice. We spent an afternoon sampling several snacks
that the daughter and Carol made along with talking and laughing.

Humas with red pepper and olive oil and flat bread
Smoked sausage wrapped with bacon, topped with cream cheese, BBQ sauce, and a jalapeño
and grilled in the oven. That was my hands down favorite. :D
Also a vegetable tray with home made dipping sauce.

Then my son in law helped
carve the turkey and we all sat down to a formal table with all the good stuff. It was nice.
On the menu
Turkey with sage dressing
Turkey gravy
Candied sweet potatoes
Scalloped corn with peppers
Cranberries with orange
Homemade bread
Pumpkin pie cake with walnuts and whipped cream
Popovers filled with chocolate sauce and whipped cream
Red wine for the adults and sparkling juice for the Grandson

Burp! It was really nice.
