Coincidence...That's the powder I've been loading for the last few days. Burns clean, measures well and does a really nice job for my plinking loads in .357 and 9mm. I load 5.4 grains under either 125 gr. or 158 gr. cast bullets in .357. Gives about 950 to 1050 fps from a revolver and 1100 to 1250 fps out of the three Henry's and shoots accurately out of all of them. In the 9's I load 4.4 gr under either a couple different cast and powder coated bullets in the 120 to 125 gr range and they are great range loads also.

I've heard that Power Pistol has a lot of flash in the dark but can't verify that. For late night uninvited visitor loads I've been using the very similar BE86 which supposedly has a flash suppressant.

I like Power Pistol enough that I just picked up another 4lb. jug even though there was still plenty here!

Thanks for the info. I have this new 610 Smith and Wesson. Ive been playing with Unique and HS-6 because thats what I have on hand. I use alot of Unique in 357 and some in 45acp when I shoot that. I also have a 40 or 2 and the Unique works ok in the 40. But the 10mm is just ok on both. So I thought I would try another powder if I can find some here locally. People seem to think PP Longshot AA9 and blue Dot are the way to go for 10.

Well today I searched for PP here locally. Turns out the local Scheels store has some at 48.99 a lb. In my email this am Powder Valley has free hazmat when you do a 99.00 order. AA7 also works well in 10mm. PV had that for 32.99 a Lb there shipping was 15.95 for 3 lbs. IM thinking even though I use a little more powder per load that Im way ahead with the AA7. Some of these powder companies are waaaaaaay out of line on these powder prices. Sheeese. makes a guy wanna just shoot 9mm and 22LR. Between 100.00 a K primers and 50.00 a pound powder Im not sure its worth it.

Al. That $48.99 price is about ten bucks too high from what I'm seeing around here although ANY Alliant powder is hard to find. I don't load for 10mm but your thinking on the #7 makes sense.

Last night sitting on the couch and had a hearing aid malfunction that required a trip to Ft. Collins. So on the way home I decided to do some toy store shopping. I stopped at the local Sportsmans warehouse looking for some 40 cal bullets and primers. SW had 40 cal Berrys in the 250 pak but I didnt want that many of those as I have just ordered some 180gr from Xtreme. But they had some LR Primers. 5.99 per 100. Thats my kinda price. I bought 500 and left 5 for the next guy. I then went to Scheels looking for a box of 100 40 cal bullets. They had those Hornady XTP so I bought some. They also had all the primers. I was going to get 1K SP primers. 85.00 a 1000. Hmmm thing Ill let them hold on to those until I really need them. I see them online for 320.00 per 5K. With shipping and Tax I can do better than 85.00 per 1K. Besides in the meantime Sportsmans may get more in.

As those seem the hardest to come by, I haven't seen "any" around here.

Yup Scheels had all the primers including large rifle. They had Federal and CCI. There prices were 85.00 and 90.00 depending on brand. Scheels is a huge store 2 floors. They have an enormous selection of products. Im sure there overhead is dictating the 85.00 price as I got Large Rifle at Sportsman’s for 5.99. I use mostly small pistol anymore and would have bought a brick at Sportsmans but they were out.

Both shops in Deer Park that sell reloading components had CCI primers this week. Lot’s of powder too. I asked the guy at one shop if he had a “way back” machine.

Today I loaded up 7 rounds of .32-40 Winchester ammo, for my Uncle to send through his John Wayne Commerative Model 94 Winchester rifle.

I never could find a single round of factory loaded ammo, so all I have for specs are what I could find online and in my Hodgdon’s manual.

Would have been nice to find some factory stuff to measure and such, and see if they feed okay. I made several dummy rounds of various lengths, including shorter and much longer lengths. None of them would feed & chamber correctly. It’s as if the rifle’s elevator drops down just a tiny bit as you pull the lever back a ways, and the round gets hung up at the “feed ramp” portion of the chamber, right at the bullet’s tip. Moving the lever forward/bolt backwards a tiny bit at that point allows the rear of the case (case flange) to pop up through the widened portion on of the feed rails, and up onto the rail. Then, moving the lever back will allow the bolt to go forward and chamber the round. I’m perplexed. My Uncle said not to worry about it. For now, he can just send a couple of rounds through it “single shot style”, and then take it to a gunsmith to figure it out…..

One weird thing about all this is with 2 of the brass cases that I got from Graf’s, made by Quality Cartridge Co.. To me, they measure and look identical the other 18 cases of 20. But these 2 cases are marked “32 WIN SPL”.

I've got nine hundred primed .357 brass cases waiting their turn on the bench, but first I need to work my way through the primed nickel plated brass so I can discard it. I won't be using nickel anymore. It's way too fragile. Once these have been fired (hopefully soon), they're not coming home again.

I've got a hundred of them left and I reloaded 50 today with ZERO 158 gr JHPs and 13.9 gr H110. Fifty more to go, then no more nickel.

I don't have any nickel .357, but seem to have LOTS of .38 spl nickel cases. those seem to work ok. Not a big fan of nickel cases either tho.

You're spot on with that observation. I have 38 Spl. in both nickel and brass and the only ones I've had split on me were the nickel.

Finally decided on both my 300 Blackout and 32 H&R loads so now I can get busy and get a bunch loaded up. Gotta find some more Speer .308 125 TNT’s, heading to Coeur D’alene Id today or tomorrow and will be stopping into a shop there that has a great inventory of components.

Then some test loads for the 25-20, 60 gr sp and some 2400. Three different weights to try.
