Actually I believe it is Virginia located not far from my general area. Although I have been wanting to, I have not seen it yet. Tried to find it on Roku once or twice, but didn't have any luck.

If you have Netflix, its there. And you're correct, Virginia.

That area of Virginia is known to be the "Moonshine Capital" of the US.

Thanks for recommendation, Tom. It's a well written and well-made film; the director and cast are fabulous. I was surprised that it was released in 2012. It totally flew under my radar till now.

Well, I sure have a different opinion so far. Maybe because I'm from the general area and expected more actual history than fiction, but so far all I've seen is Hollywood, Hollywood, Hollywood. And the more I check into it, the more I'm finding out about 90% of it is made up. I find the fiction part extreme. Way too much violence and I didn't even get to the sex scenes yet. I'm planning on watching the whole thing, but so far I've only watched about the first 30 minutes. Once that slick guy (who in real life was not even from outside the area, never mind Chicago) was beating the younger brother to a pulp, I shut it off. I believe if I was at the movie house, I would had walked out and demanded my money back.

In the meantime, I've checked some more into the background of the book itself and am about half way through the Matt Bondurant interview online (link below) and have learned a lot so far. Will report back one I've finished the interview and the movie itself.

Maybe if they would not have pushed the "Based on a True Story" issue as much as they did, I might have had a different opinion. But even if it was a totally fiction movie, I sure would not have been impressed with it.
