They say that they are bumping up the race a little earlier for the expected rain later on today.

There is a good chance it won't go the distance.

Chase Elliot returns to the track today after breaking his leg several weeks ago .... looking at background pictures as they circle the track getting ready for the Green Flag it appears they have a big crowd on hand for today's race

Chase isn't having a very good day .... he started and has pretty much run in somewhere close to 20th all day

congrats to Kyle Larson in his #5 Hendrick Chevy for taking today's race a Martinsville .... Chase took very smart advantage of a late caution to finish 10th which was considerably better than he'd run all day ....

I saw where the 23 was bumping into the 11 trying to knock him out of the way so he could pass him and all of a sudden I said "Wait a minute, that's his owner"!!

That is a cool picture.

Chase was born in November of '95. If he is a little over 2 years old in that picture, it would have been taken in 1998.

Dale would have been about 48.

Talladega is living up to its reputation today. Some pretty spectacular crashes.

I don't remember, is that Ward or Jeff's son? Thinking Ward's.

Jeb is Ward's son.

Harrison is Jeff's son.

I've always liked all 4. Both Dad's and both Son's.

You know baseball to me is just boring to watch. When I was in Texas I really tried to watch a couple races with some other people. But I just have no interest anymore. Its more boring than baseball. I didnt think that was possible.

Chase ran way back in the pack for most of stage one before a fuel only pit stop put him in the lead .... he managed to stay in the lead and took Stage 1

Kyle Busch wins it !!

Seems like he hung around the back most of the day and started to move up front when it was time. He was also close to running out of fuel, but took the gamble not to pit. Not sure if he could have regained the lead, but Bubba's wreck made that a no worry.

I hated it when Ward lost his ride. Soon after, Richard Petty was looking for another driver and some of us were hoping that he would pick Ward. Would had been interesting if he did. Turn's out that Richard's selections really weren't that great.
