410 ammo

Post by graywolf » Tue Mar 07, 2023 8:55 am

First 410 ammo I’ve seen locally in at least 2 years. Little family run sporting goods store opened about 6 months ago. Went in to check it out. Mostly clothes, no firearms, but did have small selection of ammo, including WW Super X. They were proud of it. 33$ box.

Fortunately a sporting clays club I frequent sells 410 clay shells for 13.50 a box. That's far cheaper than any place I've seen.

I went to a gunshop yesterday that I hadn't been in for years. I saw a few things that made me interested, but ended up just getting two boxes of 2 1/2" .410 #8s. $21.95 a box. No other shot sizes. I happened to be in the area.

Stopped into a store called The General Store in Spokane yesterday looking for some Hornady bullets. Didn’t have the bullet I wanted but they did have some 410 ammo. Winchester 2.5” #6 and Federal 3”. First time I’ve seen field loads in forever. Grabbed a box of the Winny’s for my Henry.

Hopefully my Sportsman's Warehouse will finally have some. The last 4 or 5 times, I've walked out empty.

What price did they have on them?

410 shells are ridiculously overpriced just like 20ga ammo is compared to 12ga.

.410 is the cheapest shell to reload. Yah it takes time but if you are like me, retired with more time than money. A little research can save a lot of money. Lots of videos on YouTube.

Al, around here the 20's and 12's run neck and neck on prices.
Still haven't seen a 410 in a store around here in a good while.

But I probably at the moment have somewhere between 7 to 800 rds.
Mostly 2.5".

In Texas USA the 20 and 12 in the Federal 100 paks are the same price. But in the Antigun country of Colorado the price is not the same. About a 1.00 a box different. makes no sense to me less shot and powder. Should be cheaper

The box of Win 2.5” #6 cost me $21.something plus tax. Crazy.
