357 Big Boy X model (avoided)

Post by Hatchdog » Tue Dec 13, 2022 11:24 am

A local guy put a X 357 Big Boy fired only five times up for sale for $900 or trade for an AR-15. I didn’t want to spend the money right now but considered offering him an AR. I resisted due to possible legislation banning the sale of AR’s in the communist state of Washington that’s pending. Happily the rifle is now sold so I can stop fretting about it.

I’ll have an X one of these days but I would prefer it to be a 30-30.

Whew, dodged that “bullet”.

Not the post I expected either!
Hatchdog, if you find another, get it - it's a hoot to shoot, and won't break your wallet in ammunition.

Good decision on not trading. Buy one when you can.

Right you are Mike_S, I’m fortunate to own a Big Boy Steel in .357 and I agree, they’re a hoot to shoot.

Little late here but the AR isn't banned in washington just the 10+ magazines, I traded several firearms when I lived in Washington. If I purchased a firearm thru an FFL I used an FFL for transfer just to cover my six because my names on the serial #

You are correct as of today but our state legislature is working very hard right now to put a ban in place for many firearms including AR’s, some shotguns and even some handguns. I expect this to become law this year. Sure hope I’m wrong,

I hope you are to Hatch, haven't kept up with the news there. Be going back to visit family this year and won't be bringing my AR 😆 but hope to do some razor clam digging and get some fresh oysters. Despite the politics it's a beautiful state and lots to enjoy.
