Deciding on first Henry

Big lever small lever dont matter to me I think there both cool as long as they come attached to a Henry. I started out with a Big Boy in 357 and none of the carbines were available when I bought mine. I just bought the 45 colt carbine this last year and if I had to do it over again I would buy the 357 in the carbine model. Im like one other poster said I just like the way they handle and there alot better looking in person than in a picture. My 22lr also has the big loop lever. Al

I wouldn't exactly say I'm part of the younger crowd. Knocking on the 60 door here in a couple weeks.

I would like the big loop, but there are so many things I need more, I can't afford/justify the $60, and I don't feel like calling Henry and asking for a free one.

It's really a non issue, but if I ever get caught up, I would like to get one..........

I happen to have a big loop lever I would just give you if you send me your address. Its like brand new I got it a while back when I thought I was going to convert one over but I changed my mind and went back to the standard lever. I dont need a spare and its just hangin out in the basement. Al

Well I called all around the last few days and there are a few places with the regular Big Boys in stock but none with the BBS.

Got to playing around and measuring other guns in the safe though and think I've decided on the 20". It's 1.5" shorter than my 336 and the same size as my 10/22, knew the dimensions but never really had a comparison in my mind of it. I have an Ithaca .22 lever action that is 34", the same as the Carbine and holding it feels like a toy.

Of course there is a Gun Show this weekend but I'll be on shift so no dice there, may just break down and order one after taking a look at the regular BB.

Of course, let us know what you decide. I spent the day yesterday with my 20" BBS. I find myself using that rifle more than my AR at the range. I enjoy it that much. Really like loading 10 rounds in the 20" model. The reduced capacity of the carbine would be a bummer...

Yes please let us know what you decide. The .357 in a rifle is really easy shooting. I shot a friends for awhile years ago & really liked it, it was a Rossi 92 copy & a lot of fun.
