Re: Nice little package this morning....
I started to buy a couple boxes but then got to thinking.....and
I talked myself out of it.
But I did get some 86 JSP's for the 25-20 from a member of another gun forum,
and
a box of Hornady 143 gr ELD'X's for the Creedmoor.
I may still buy one just to have, would be a good hunter.
But heck 250's ain't nuttin to sneeze at.

Not hunting with these but they do make for a nice shooting load and mostly for woods carry with the Colt 45 revolvers and would work well for the Henry lever Carbine as well. I like those large meplat bullets!

Sittin out in the hunting house this morning.
Nothing moving, so playing on phone and noticed Midway has free shipping on orders over $49.
So I ordered 2 boxes, saved like $14.

I looked at these on their website for the brinell hardness, which they say is between 18-21. Pretty hard, but, they do mention they use a lube/coating that prevents any leading. Interesting. I 'll wait on a range report, but may try a box or two later.

Have you used the 8.8 Unique load before?fortyshooter wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 5:13 pmGlad you got them! I may load some after I get through my 44 Mag setup.
Thinking I'd load some to try in the rifles, and maybe the BH.

Re: Nice little package this morning....
Yes and I see if I can dig up my notes on them.
Re: Nice little package this morning....
I'm wondering what the OAL length with that bullet is? My new H012 seems like it's going to draw the line at 1.600".
Re: Nice little package this morning....
max OAL for 45 colt is 1.600". A 265gr bullet will need to seat deeper in the case to stay within OAL max.

Re: Nice little package this morning....
The ones I loaded the the other day 1.59, crimped right in the groove.
If it's not to rainy today I'll give 'em a try.

There's no lube in the grooves so apparently it's a clear powder coat or something on the order of Alox?
