Flu call........

Post by fortyshooter » Mon Dec 12, 2022 3:28 pm

Anybody caught the crud yet? I came down with it Saturday and today the fever is gone and now stuffed up head with cough. Wife is just getting it so hopefully it won't be as bad.

Was talking with a friend at lunch, I knew she and her daughter were sick a couple weeks back.
She said it was the A type, and said it was Worse than Covid by ten times.
Said she had covid twice and it was nothing compared to that flu.

We didn't get sick at all last couple years. I guess Buster heard a knock on the door and let Mr. Flu in! Hoping for some better sleep as the last two nights were terrible.

All good here. Had a cold last winter for a day or two. Black powder aroma therapy worked wonders.

Covid in 2020, didn’t feel anything. Double vaxxed and Covid again in 2021 that kept me from work for 4 months. This fall I’ve caught some chest virus that won’t let go. I was never sick up to the 21 Covid and haven’t felt healthy since. I went from running 6-8 miles in an hour on the treadmill to fast walking 3-4. It took me 7-8 months to be able to run back to back 9 minute miles but getting winded easily again.

One of the Spokane elementary schools put a mask mandate for everybody today. It’s reported that 30% of the kids are out sick. Not necessarily Covid but flu and other respiratory issues. I guess the threshold for masks is 20%. Feel bad for those kids but at least they should be better for Christmas.

All quiet here on the home front. (Thankfully)

Don't know if it was flu of just a bad cold. Had the flu shot a couple months ago. Didn't feel really bad but short of breath and very congested with a 101 fever for a few days. Lasted for a couple of weeks and I was feeling pretty good for a few days and then either it came back or I got some other virus and now 2 weeks later and I'm feeling mostly recovered. I did do a home Covid test and a drive-thru Covid test and they were both negative. Something is really going around here as the cold/flu remedies in local stores were mostly sold out. Did manage to find some generic cough syrup and decongestant last week at Walmart.

Still dealing with the crud wondering what other surprise it might have for me the next day. Today before lunch started with stomach cramps feeling like I better head for the bathroom. Nothing much came from that thank goodness and just some light nibbles for lunch. I can be sitting in my chair in the den and gradually my sinuses will just clear up but the clog back up shortly. A blustery 44 degrees out last couple days and haven't stepped outside since Saturday. Ordered some meds we had run out of on Amazon and they got delivered same day. Did not want to go to a store.

Hoping this virus will run be out of here by the weekend!

Got flu type A from a guy who works at my shop coming over to make an offer on my Jeep. I had my flu shot in October but this hit me pretty hard. Coughing, aches, chills, sweats, loss of appetite, you know....the flu. Have not had flu in years but this stuff is spreading like crazy. Was down 4 days but went into work today and feel much better moving around. Be aware, keep your distance.

I once felt a cold coming on. Spent the evening sipping whiskey. Next day I was fine. Figured the whiskey burned the all the crap out.
