Just Bought A 357 Big Boy Classic

My dad is teaching me how to reload and he has a nice Dillion setup with everything needed for some common calibers. My 10 day wait is over on 12/8 and I can't wait to bring it home. Is a Henry Big Boy 45 chambered in 45 Long Colt or ACP?

.45 Colt. For a larger cartridge, the Colt is really mild mannered in recoil, especially in a rifle. Enjoy your Henry

I got to shoot a .45 Colt recently and was surprised that it did not have too much recoil, but sure put some wide holes in the target. My next Henry will most likely be Long Ranger in 556/223.

Today is the big day and my wait 10 day wait period finally ended thank God. I just picked up my 357 Big Boy Classic from my LGS and plan to hit the range this weekend or tomorrow. Pictures to follow. How do I register it with Henry? I can't find anything for that on their website?

That is what I was thinking. My Dad's friend bought a used Henry 22 which had some sort of problem. So this non-original owner sent it to Henry for help and they sent him back a new rifle. Makes me want to buy another Henry already just because of that. My next one will most likely be the Henry Long Ranger 556/223.

I have three Henrys but no brass receivers. A lot of the members here have mentioned using Renaissance wax though.

Long Ranger 556/223 is an excellent choice. It was my 2nd purchase.

TO MAINTAIN OR RESTORE THE RECEIVER TO ITS ORIGINAL FACTORY
SHINE, WE SUGGEST YOU USE PEEK METAL POLISH, FLITZ, OR NEVR
DULL.

These products come in different versions. Just make sure to use the product versions specifically for cleaning gun brass (ammonia free).

Ammonia is not long term friendly to brass alloys.
Afterwards buff with Renaissance wax for a protective layer.
Use 100% cotton cloth only. No polyester content and no microfiber. These will leave very fine scratches in the brass.

Last night I inspected my new Henry BB 357 Mag and found a hairline crack on the wood Forearm piece at the Barrel Band. Henry sent me a return shipping label for warranty but this really sucks. I just got the thing yesterday after waiting for it forever because of shipping delays and then the California 10 day wait period. I was hoping they could just send me the replacement part.

Ya they seem to be inconsistent on doing that.
When I needed a new stock they sent one. On the other hand there older posts throughout the forum where it has gone either way.

Might try insisting that they really only need to send a replacement forearm.

Dina, who is a customer service supervisor at Henry, let me know that she has ordered the replacement wood forearm for my Henry Big Boy Classic and I should be receiving it soon. Henry's customer service was quick, easy and fantastic.
