Minute of pumpkin...........
Picked up couple of these cool little pumpkins at the grocery this morning and thought they would make a great target. So headed to the range after lunch with my good 'ol Henry 45 X Model and one of those skully little pumpkins.
After doing a target check with the Henry from 45 yds. I set about to try and get a hit or two on it. Now that little pumpkin gets small from that distance so standing and leaning back against a post I took several shots giving a bit of Kentucky windage adjustments trying to get a center shot which was a bit difficult. The video a little long in between shots since I can't edit out the dead time but take a look if you want.
The sound mostly from the 255 gr. slug hitting pumpkin and the target board since I had the Banish 45 attached. https://youtu.be/zt6oBA3wY50
After 3rd shot fast hiking that 45 yds. between shots and then settling down for a good trigger break was a little tiring but got it done.
Shot it one last time after video and got a got hit on the skull! The ammo was my 255 gr Xtreme bullets with 6 gr. of Red Dot and got some good 2 shot groups on that pumpkin!

You need a pumpkin re-setter. It’s amazing how much walking we get in on the range. Good for you.

Re: Minute of pumpkin...........
Yep plenty of exercise and in great Fall weather!
As a side story....As I sat back taking in the nice day I called my range neighbor just down the road to see how is foot recovery was coming along.
He was sitting on his back deck plinking with his M-1 Carbine at a steel target about 15-20 yards out. While on the phone I would hear the steel ring with a hit and then about a second later I would hear the shot thru the woods! That was cool! He is coming along nicely.

Re: Minute of pumpkin...........
Looks like fun.
Hey, buddy, have you ever shot anything heavier than 255 in your Henry's?
Got a guy over on cast boolits that is thinking about a Henry in 45 colt and is wondering.
Just curious. Thanks.

Re: Minute of pumpkin...........
I have some 315 and 325 gr. loaded up but have not tried them in the Henry. The COL is 1.640 for the 315's and 1.660 for the 325"s.
I loaded these for my 454/45 Colt Alaskan that will chamber longer loads. Will a 1.640 chamber in the 45 Colt Henry you think.
Those are loaded over 10 gr. Unique....Ruger only loads.

Re: Minute of pumpkin...........
I just tried a 315 gr 45 Colt load and at 1.640 it cycled thru the action. Now to try a few next range trip!
Note that this is in my carbine not the X Model.
