Halloween 2022
Having come from a metropolitan area I’m use to 60 plus globins. Neighbors tell me not to expect any. I find that unacceptable and bought a ton of candy. Here my 97 year old neighbor, Norma, aka “mummy”, bags the candy into one quart freezer bags.
We now have 20 quart bags and she is calling all the kids in the neighborhood telling them this is the house to visit. Mummy will be here to hand out candy.

I was in Costco yesterday and looked at a giant bag of some of my favorite candy bars. Thought about putting one in the cart until I remembered we haven’t had a trick or treater in 18 years. Good for you Sir Henry for giving out quality candy bars.

Carol and I had that discussion a few years back and I gave in because I knew I'd just eat them my self, then
to her horror some small children rang the bell.
She ended up giving them my Orios.
Now she gets at least one bag of candy, (which I get to eat).

Same here. Even though I know there are several children in my neighborhood, we never see any trick or treaters. i think the parents take them all into town and stop at all the merchants. Safer that way, and just fine with me.

Re: Halloween 2022
I've been on a dead end country road for 37 years and have never had a trick or treater. It was a big deal when I was a kid, we'd be out for several hours and come home with a huge amount of candy.
If I had kids there's no way I'd let them go house to house trick or treating today, would only allow it at merchants, schools or good friends.
I do get a few candy bars just in case but always end up having to eat them myself.

In Woodinville the parents would always go with the kids and wait in the road.

Re: Halloween 2022
We've been in this subdivision now for 29 years. We used to get a lot T'OT's but not anymore. It's a whole different time. A couple of years ago we only had a handful of kids come by, so we decided to keep the lights off last year. I don't know what the wife has planned for this year.

You are a good man Gene. Giving the local kids a reason to enjoy an old tradition.
We have been in this house for 27 years. Early on we would have pretty good turn out of kids. Over the years we saw fewer and fewer. All the way down to only 3 or 4 little monsters. Last year we had about a dozen a few new families with little ones have moved in so we expect maybe a few more this year. About a month ago we picked up a modest size bag of candy with Snickers, Twix and M&Ms Well…it seams we snacked a little and all that was left were the M&Ms. We just bought a larger bag of all mixed candy bars. We are not opening it until the first kid shows up.
